Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section nine of the Public Reserves, Domains, and National Parks Act, 1928, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the reserves described in the Schedule hereto shall become vested in the Geraldine County River Board, in trust, for river-conservation purposes.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres 3 roods, more or less, being parts of Reserves 1071 and 3417, situated in Block IV, Pareora Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-west by a public road, 1198·9 links; towards the north-east by a stream, 15 links wide; and towards the south generally by the present bank of the Opihi River. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 15/208B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Canadian Goose to cease to be Imported Game.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that on and after the date hereof the bird known as the Canadian goose (Branta canadensis) shall cease to be included in the Second Schedule of the said Act.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 13th day of August, 1931.

Opening Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule, and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

(Exempt from the payment of rent for three years.)

SETTLEMENT LAND.
Hobson County.—Waimata Settlement.
Section 14s: Area, 303 acres. Capital value, £1,100. Half-yearly rent, £27 10s. Weighted with £106 10s. for improvements.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicants, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do hereby declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.

Sections 2 and 4, Block XVI: Area, 271 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £500. Deposit on deferred payments, £25; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £15 8s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £10.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Mangonui County.—Takahue Survey District.
Section 7, Block XIII: Area, 363 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £600. Deposit on deferred payments, £30; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £18 10s. 6d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £12.

Opening Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Selection.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, this is to say:—

The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for selection on Tuesday, the sixth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the price specified in the said Schedule, and for the purposes of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Land Act, 1924, the said land shall be deemed to be “scrub land.”

The said land may be selected on small grazing-run lease.

After the first half-year’s rent has been paid by the selector, the further instalments of rent payable by him for the period specified in the Schedule hereto shall not be demanded: Provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.
