Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Mangawara Drainage District, County of Waikato.

Wellington, 13th August, 1931.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Mangawara Drainage District. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM THE MANGAWARA DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, Block X, Hapuakohe Survey District, bounded by a line commencing at a point where the south-western boundary of Allotment 324, Taupiri Parish, intersects the Ohinewai - Te Hoe Road; thence generally in a south-easterly direction along the south-western boundary of Allotment 324 aforesaid to and across a public road, the western, south-western, and south-eastern boundaries of Allotment 331, Taupiri Parish, the south-western boundary of Allotment 342, Taupiri Parish, and the south-western extremity of a public road; thence in a north-easterly direction along the southern side of that road to its junction with a public road; thence in a south-easterly direction along the last-mentioned public road to and across a public road, and along the north-eastern boundary of Allotment 465, Taupiri Parish, to the Mangawara River; thence in a westerly direction generally down the Mangawara River to Williams's Bridge at the south-eastern corner of Lot 4 of part Allotment 465, Taupiri Parish (Auckland S.O. plan No. 21848); thence along the north-eastern and north-western boundaries of Lot 4 aforesaid and the north-western boundary of Lot 3 of part Allotment 465, Taupiri Parish, to a point distant 22 chains from the north-eastern corner of that lot; thence in a north-westerly direction by a right line across a public road and through Allotment 465, Taupiri Parish, to the southernmost corner of Allotment 205, Taupiri Parish; thence in a north-easterly direction generally along the southern boundary of Allotment 205 aforesaid, the southern extremity of a public road, the generally south-eastern boundary of Allotment 207, Taupiri Parish, the southern extremity of a public road, and the eastern side of that road to the Ohinewai - Te Hoe Road; thence easterly along that road to and across a public road to the point of commencement.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries—Cobden Town District.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be excluded from the Cobden Town District and included in the County of Grey. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed alteration of boundaries which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE EXCLUDED FROM COBDEN TOWN DISTRICT AND INCLUDED IN THE COUNTY OF GREY.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 223, Block IV, Cobden Survey District; thence southerly along the eastern boundary of Section 223 to the road forming the north-eastern boundary of Section 222, Block IV, Cobden Survey District; thence across that road and along the north-eastern boundaries of Section 222 to its easternmost corner; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 222, 123A, across Munro Street, and along the south-eastern boundary of Section 230 to its southernmost corner; thence along the south-western boundary of Section 230 to its south-western corner; thence along the western boundaries of Section 230, across Munro Street, Sections 123A and

222, to a point in line with the northern side of an unnamed road intersecting Section 2952; thence along the northern side of that road and its production to the high-water mark of the Tasman Sea; thence along the high-water mark of the Tasman Sea to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section 223 aforesaid; thence to and along that boundary to the north-eastern corner of Section 223, the point of commencement.

Notifying Land in the North Auckland Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Wellington, 17th July, 1931.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I hereby notify that the undermentioned land, being the land known as Tauraroa Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act as from the 1st May, 1931.

SCHEDULE.

NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TAURAROA SETTLEMENT. ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District, Whangarei County, containing by admeasurement 1,142 acres 1 rood 7 perches, more or less, being Lots 4 and 5 on D.P.'s 19521 and 19532, being portion of Walton's Grant comprised in Certificate of Title Vol. 464, folio 226, and Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 on D.P. 23710, being portion of Walton's Grant comprised in Certificate of Title, Vol. 624, folio 275, all in Blocks III, VIII, X, and XI, Tangihua Survey District. As the same is more particularly delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 21/149/1140, deposited under No. 2502 in the Head Office of the Lands and Survey Department, Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Kaitaia Drainage Area: Notice of Intention to make and levy General Rates.

Wellington, 6th August, 1931.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is intended, pursuant to the Swamp Drainage Act, 1915, and its amendments, to make and levy, on the unimproved value of all land within the Kaitaia Town District Subdivision of the Kaitaia Drainage Area constituted under the said Act, the general rate described in the First Schedule hereto, and on the unimproved value of all land in the subdivision of the Kaitaia Drainage Area outside the Kaitaia Town District the general rates described in the Second Schedule, such respective rates being for the purpose of meeting maintenance costs for the period from the 1st April, 1931, to the 31st March, 1932.

The amount of such rates, less a subsidy of sixteen shillings (16s.) for one pound (£1), (together with the annually recurring special rates already made and levied) will be payable in one sum on the 30th August, 1931.

The valuation roll and the rate-book of the district will be open for inspection at the office of the Collector of Rates, Chief Drainage Engineer's Office, 5 Law Court Buildings, High Street, Auckland, and copies of same may be inspected at the office of the Chief Drainage Engineer, Kaitaia, at all times at which those offices are open for the transaction of public business.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

TOWN SUBDIVISION.

On the unimproved value of all land within the Kaitaia Town District, seventy-two one-hundredths of a penny (0·72d.) in the pound.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

RURAL SUBDIVISION.

Class A.—On the unimproved value of all land classified as Class A by the persons appointed to classify lands under section 3 of the Swamp Drainage Amendment Act, 1928, eight pence and thirty-nine one-hundredths of a penny (8·39d.) in the pound.

Class B.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class B, two pence and ninety-four one-hundredths of a penny (2·94d.) in the pound.

Class C.—On the unimproved value of all land so classified as Class C, one penny and twenty-six one-hundredths of a penny (1·26d.) in the pound.
