Silk, Haworth, and Co., No. 44 Maria Place, Wanganui, on Tuesday, the 21st day of July, 1931, at 10.30 o’clock a.m., for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator.

“That, as it has been proved to the satisfaction of its shareholders that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, carry on business, that the same be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. THOMAS ARCHIBALD FELTON, certified Accountant, Auckland, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

CENTRAL ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD (HAMILTON).

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

I N pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and all other Acts and powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Central Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:--

“That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Central Electric-power Board’s Electric Works Loan 1926 Supplementary Loan, 1931, of six thousand five hundred pounds (£6,500) being additional ten (10) per centum of the loan of sixty-five thousand pounds (£65,000) authorized to be raised by the Board under the above-mentioned Acts for the purpose of constructing electric works and of constructing and erecting transmission-lines, transformer-stations, and all other fittings and appliances for conveying, transmitting, or distributing electricity in the special-rating area, as described hereafter, including the purchase of all necessary land, materials, plant, and tools, and all payments for labour, engineer’s fees, plans and supervision, and for compensation to owners of property in respect of such works, and for purchase of land and erection of administrative buildings thereon, the said Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-fiftieth of a penny (1/50d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of capital value) of all rateable property in the special-rating area, comprising all those portions of the Central Electric-power District as defined by Orders in Council appearing in the New Zealand Gazette on the 8th day of July, 1920, 7th day of September, 1922 (in as much as refers to the Borough of Ngaruawahia only), 6th day of March, 1924, and 7th day of August, 1924, respectively; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six (26) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

We certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Central Electric-power Board on the 13th day of May, 1931, and appearing in the minute-book of the said Board.

THE TIROHIA-ROTOKOHU DRAINAGE DISTRICT.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Tirohia-Rotokohu Drainage Board hereby resolves as follows:--

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £800, authorized to be raised by the Tirohia-Rotokohu Drainage Board under the above-mentioned Act for deepening and widening the Kuaoti Stream, the said Tirohia-Rotokohu Drainage Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1½d. in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable land classed “A” (the land lying to the east of the Paeroa–Auckland Railway line) and ¾d. in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable land classed “B” (the land lying to the west of the Paeroa–Auckland Railway line) of the Tirohia-Rotokohu Drainage District; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifteen years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
