Queen's Wharf: Alteration in Lights.
Position: On Signal Tower, Queen's Wharf.
Details: On 20th July the two fixed red lights at present
exhibited will be altered to flashing red every three seconds
thus: flash, 1 sec.; eclipse, 2 sec.

SOUTH PACIFIC OCEAN.—TONGA (OR FRIENDLY) ISLANDS.—
NOMUKA GROUP.
Position of Nomuka Light altered.
Position: Lat. 203° 16' S., long. 174° 49' W. (approx.).
Details: The light formerly shown from the summit of
Matamaka Hill, Nomuka Island, is now exhibited from
Muifuiva Island at an elevation of 67 ft. from a tower 47 ft.
in height.
Remarks: The characteristics of the light are unaltered.

Notice to Mariners No. 28 of 1931.

WELLINGTON W/T/ STATION.
Reinstatement of Weather Bulletin.
THE general weather bulletin which was discontinued
some time ago is being issued as formerly at 0930 GMT
on a wave length of 375 kc/s (800 M) (A2).
The message contains a general statement of the weather
systems affecting New Zealand waters; forecasts for New
Zealand; New Zealand waters and the eastern Tasman
Sea; followed by reports from the following seventeen stations:
Akaroa Lighthouse, Auckland, Cape Campbell, Cape Egmont,
Cape Maria Van Diemen, Chatham Islands, East Cape,
Farewell Spit, Greymouth, Hobart, Napier, Norfolk Island,
Nugget Point, Puysegur Point, Stephens Island, Sydney, and
Wellington.

The reports contain observations of barometric pressure in
inches, air temperature in degrees (F.), wind direction and
force (Beaufort scale), and the state of the sea in plain language.
Masters of vessels desiring a weather report may obtain same
on request.
Any charges involved will be debited by the Post and
Telegraph Department to the ship concerned.
NOTE.—The coast station charge for a message of inquiry
regarding weather conditions is two shilling for twenty words.
This charge includes the cost of the reply from the coast
station.

published for general information.

NOTICE TO MARINERS—VICTORIA.
(NO. 4 OF 1931.)
EASTERN LIGHT, PORT PHILLIP: ALTERATION IN CHARACTER.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that on or about
the 1st July, 1931, the occulting light at the eastern shore
will be altered to a fixed electric light.
Remarks: The other details of the light will remain
unchanged. In the event of a failure of electric current the
light will revert to an occulting light with the following
characteristics : Flash, 3 sec. ; eclipse, 2 sec.
No further notice will be given.

REAR LEADING LIGHT, WEST CHANNEL, PORT PHILLIP:
ALTERATION IN CHARACTER.
Mariners and others are hereby notified that on or about
the 15th July, 1931, the occulting light on Point Nepean
Peninsula will be altered to a fixed electric light.
Remarks: The other details of the light will remain
unchanged. In the event of a temporary failure of electric
current the light will revert to an occulting light with the
following characteristics : Flash, 4 sec. ; eclipse, ½ sec.
No further notice will be given.
