Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for Children’s Hospital Art Union, Sydney.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the organization whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said organization shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said organization (either by its own or any fictitious or assumed name) or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, fixing the Closing-hours of Butchers’ Shops within the Combined District of Whangarei and Kamo.
WHEREAS a requisition in writing, signed by a majority of the occupiers of all the butchers’ shops within the Combined District of Whangarei and Kamo, comprising the Borough of Whangarei and the Town District of Kamo, has been forwarded to me, desiring that all such shops within the said combined district be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: Subject to closing not later than 1 p.m. on the day observed as the statutory closing-day, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 5 p.m.:
And whereas I, Sydney George Smith, Minister of Labour, am satisfied that the signatures to such requisition represent a majority of the occupiers of all the said shops within the said combined district:
Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, I do hereby direct that on and after the 29th day of June, 1931, all the butchers’ shops within the said combined district shall be closed accordingly.

NOTE.—This notice is in substitution for the notice gazetted on the 21st September, 1922, fixing the closing-hours of butchers’ shops in the Borough of Whangarei.

WHEREAS the Native Minister has decided to apply the provisions of subsection (3) of section 23 of the Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1929, to the Native land or land owned by Natives described in the Schedule hereto: Notice of the Native Minister’s intention so to do is hereby given and published in accordance with the said subsection (3), and attention is drawn to paragraph (f) of the said subsection (3), which provides that no owner shall, except with the consent of the Native Minister, be entitled to exercise any rights of ownership in connection with the land affected so as to interfere with or obstruct the carrying-out of any works undertaken or to be undertaken under the said subsection (3).
