Appointment of Customs Examining-place at Gisborne.

I, GEORGE WILLIAM FORBES, Minister of Customs, in exercise of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do by this Warrant appoint the place enumerated in the Schedule hereto to be a place at the Port of Gisborne for the examination by the Customs of goods subject to the control of the Customs.

I, GEORGE WILLIAM FORBES, Minister of Customs, in exercise of the powers vested in me for this purpose by the Customs Act, 1913, do hereby revoke the appointment of all examining-places at the Port of Nelson, and do by this Warrant appoint the places enumerated in the Schedule hereto to be places at the said Port of Nelson for the examination by the Customs of goods subject to the control of the Customs.

Classification of Roads in Waitotara County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and their amendments, I, William Burgoyne Taverner, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Waitotara County shall belong to the respective class of roads as shown in the said Schedule.

WAITOTARA COUNTY.

ROADS classified in the Fourth Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 4½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 6½ tons.

Campbell Road.
Livingstone Road.
Mission Road.
Sewell Road.
Symes Road.
Tokomaru West Road.
Waitotara Valley Road (Lower).
Wanganui River-bank Road.
Watt Road.

Classification of Roads in Wairoa County.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and their amendments, I, William Burgoyne Taverner, Minister of Transport, do hereby approve of the Wairoa County Council’s proposed classification of all that portion of the Waikaremoana–Hopuruahine–Ruatahuna Road between its junction with the Frasertown Lake House Main Highway and the boundary between the Wairoa and Whakatane Counties in the Fifth class, available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 2½ tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 4½ tons.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-orders and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand in connection with Holy Name Cathedral Art Union, Brisbane.

THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the organization named in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said organization shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said organization (either by its own or any fictitious or assumed name) or addressed to either of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.

Fixing the Amount of Special Orchard-tax payable in the Christchurch Commercial Fruit-growing District.—(Notice No. Ay. 2965.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by subsection (3) of section 4 of the Orchard-tax Act, 1927, I, Alfred James Murdoch, Minister of Agriculture, hereby order and direct that, in addition to the general orchard-tax payable under section 3 of the said Act, the occupier of every orchard within the Christchurch Commercial Fruitgrowing District shall in each year be liable to pay a special orchard-tax calculated at the rate of two shillings (2s.) for every acre or part of an acre comprised in his orchard.
