THIRD-CLASS LAND.

Thames County.—Hastings Survey District.

Section 2, Block IX: Area, 636 acres. Capital value, £240. Half-yearly rent, £4 16s.

Weighted with £145, for improvements comprising 67 chains road-fencing; 23 chains subdivisional fencing; 100 acres felled and burned, but partly reverted to second growth; 250 acres surface-sown, but largely reverted to second growth. Repayable either in cash or by a deposit of £15; the balance to be secured over a period of ten years at 5½ per cent. interest, by half-yearly instalments of principal and interest combined, £8 10s. 9d.

Grazing property situated on the Tapu-Coroglen Road, about three miles from Coroglen Post-office, school, and landing, and sixteen miles from Mercury Bay. Eight miles metalled road, and eight miles clay-road.

Undulating to hilly country, steep and broken in places, of which 150 acres is in worn-out pasture, now largely reverted; 100 acres bush land, felled and grassed, of which 60 acres is reverting to second growth; 387 acres in natural state.

The soil is a light clayey loam resting on sedimentary rock. Watered by springs and the Waiwawa and Taranoho Streams.

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.

Ohinemuri County.—Ohinemuri Survey District.

Section 15, Block XII: Area, 248 acres. Capital value, £125. Half-yearly rent, £2 10s.

Grazing property, situated five miles from Waihi Railway-station by a good road, running off the north side of the Waihi–Whangamata Road, about two miles from the Waihi Borough boundary. The nearest school is at Waihi North, about three miles distant.

Undulating to steep and broken country, of which approximately 120 acres are old kauri workings; approximately 60 acres light tawa bush, and the balance open fern country. Blackberry requires attention in open country.

The soil is of a very light clayey loam resting on clay and rhyolite formation. Well watered by running streams.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 2nd day of May, 1931.

Revoking the Setting-apart of Lands for Selection by Discharged Soldiers, under Special Tenures, in the Auckland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the Proclamation made on the fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the Gazette of the eleventh day of November then instant, setting apart lands for selection by discharged soldiers under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act, 1915, in so far as it relates to the land in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TAURANGA COUNTY.—KATIKATI PARISH.

ALLOTMENTS 101A, 101B, 101C, and 101D, Katikati Parish: Area, 97 acres 1 rood 29 perches.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 7th day of May, 1931.

Land set apart as Provisional State Forest declared to be subject to the Land Act, 1924.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section twenty of the Forests Act, 1921–22, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting on the recommendation of the Minister of Lands, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto, being part of Provisional State Forest Reserve No. 1622, set apart by Proclamation dated the eleventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and gazetted on the fourteenth day of that month, is required for settlement purposes; and, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, such land shall, from and after the day of the gazetting hereof, cease to be provisional State forest, and shall become subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 450 acres, more or less, being part of Provisional State Forest Reserve 1622, situated in Blocks VI and X, Kanieri Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the northern side of Lang Road, being the production of the eastern boundary of Section 1451 across the aforesaid Lang Road; thence running 7075 links on a bearing of 14° 30′; thence 3900 links on a bearing of 90°; thence 4300 links on a bearing of 176°; thence 7025 links on a bearing of 151° 30′; thence 2300 links on a bearing of 247° 30′; thence 3200 links on a bearing of 335°; thence 4100 links on a bearing of 307° 45′; thence 2700 links on a bearing of 250° to Lang Road, and thence running along the northern side of said Lang Road a distance of 100 links on a bearing of 284° 48′ to the point of commencement. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 9/2625, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 7th day of May, 1931.

Amending a Proclamation setting apart Land as a Provisional State Forest.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation dated the twenty-fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the first day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, at page 321 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Proclamation”), an area containing 15,840 acres, more or less, situated in Wharepapa and Ranginui Survey Districts, Auckland Land District, was set apart as a provisional State Forest:

And whereas an error was made in the Schedule attached to the said Proclamation, and it is desirable that the error be rectified:

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925, do hereby amend the said Proclamation by substituting the Schedule attached hereto for the Schedule attached to the said Proclamation.


SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—AUCKLAND FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

Part of Provisional State Forest No. 93.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, situated in Block XVI, Wharepapa Survey District, Blocks III, IV, VII, VIII, XI, and XII, Ranginui Survey District, and Blocks I and V, Whakamaru Survey District, containing 15,840 acres, more or less: Bounded towards the north by Sections 3, 2, and 1, Block III, Ranginui Survey District; towards the north-west generally by Section 1 aforesaid, by Crown land, across a road, and again by Crown land; towards the south-east and east generally by the Waipapa and Waiteti Rivers; towards the south-west by provisional State forest; towards the north-west and again towards the south-west by national-endowment land; again towards the north-west by provisional State forest (Wharepuhunga No. 20 Block); towards the south by the last-mentioned provisional State forest; and again towards the north-west by Wharepuhunga No. 17B Block; save and excepting the Pouakani A No. 1B
