the second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash, and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN LAND.
Kowai County.—Teviotdale Survey District.
Part R.S. 587, Block IX: Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £15.
Part R.S. 1545, Block IX: Area, 1 rood 7·4 perches. Upset price, £15.
The sections are situated in Leithfield Township, about half a mile from Leithfield School and two miles and a half from Amberley Railway-station, and are suitable for building purposes.
Part R.S. 587 is low-lying flat with good frontage to Main North Road and adjoining the hotel. The land is subject to flooding from the Kowai River. There is about one chain of gorse and wire fencing on road frontage.
Part R.S. 1525 has a good frontage to Mount Grey Road, on which there is an old fence.

Opening Land in North Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, this is to say :—

The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the price specified in the said Schedules, and for the purposes of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Land Act, 1924, the said land shall be deemed to be “light-bush land.”

The said land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.

After the first half-year’s rent (or the deposit on deferred payments, as the case may be) has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent (or such parts of the instalments on deferred payments as consist of interest), payable by him for the period specified in the Schedule hereto, shall not be demanded: Provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land the rent or interest so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent or interest payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Hokianga County.—Maungataniwha Survey District.—Part Omahuta Block.
(Exempt from payment of rates and rent or interest for a period of two years.)
Sections 6 and 7, Block XV: Area, 238 acres 0 roods 5 perches. Capital value, £440. Deposit on deferred payments, £25; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £13 9s. 9d. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £8 16s.
Special Condition.—The undermentioned timber on Section 7 is reserved to the State Forest Service, to be removed within a period of two years from the date of lease: 7 kauri trees, 18,652 board feet; 7 totara trees, 6,164 board feet; 4 matai trees, 2,034 board feet; 36 rimu trees, 41,225 board feet; 37 kahikatea trees, 45,452 board feet.
Part of the Omahuta Block at the head of Hokianga Harbour. Access is from the Mangamuka-Kawakawa Main Highway by new road to be constructed from the Okaihau side of Taikawhana Post-office, and about thirty miles distant from Okaihau Railway-station.
Ten acres flat, 123 acres easy undulating to steep limestone country, and 106 acres easy undulating land in fern. Soil on Section 6 is heavy dark loam on limestone and on Section 7 is fair quality clay on clay and sandstone. Milling timber on Section 6 has been cut out.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 21st day of April, 1931.

Opening Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-second day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule, and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Hobson County.—Te Kuri Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for two years.)
Sections 35, 36, and 41, Block II: Area, 89 acres 2 roods. Capital value, £270. Half-yearly rent, £5 8s.
Tokatoka Survey District.
Section 71, Block XV: Area, 90 acres 0 roods 28 perches. Capital value, £270. Half-yearly rent, £5 8s.
Situated on Wairoa River midway between Tikinui and Tangaihi, and opposite Ruawai.
Sections 35, 36, and 41, Block II, Te Kuri: Access is from Tikinui or Tangaihi, about four miles to either place. All level swamp with exception of Section 35, which is undulating, and provides a suitable building-site. Swamp is covered in mangroves, raupo, and rushes, and carrying some rough feed. Soil is river mud resting on clay formation. Will make an excellent dairy farm when stopbanked.
Section 71, Block XV, Tokatoka: Access is from Tikinui which is about three miles and a half distant. Two miles and three-quarters formed cart-road; balance unformed. All level swamp covered in mangroves, raupo, rushes, and carrying some rough feed. Soil is river mud resting on clay formation. Requires to be stopbanked.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Whangarei County.—Manuia Parish.
(Exempt from payment of rent for four years.)
Sections 35 and 36: Area, 134 acres 1 rood 10 perches. Capital value, £70. Half-yearly rent, £1 8s.
Section 41: Area, 58 acres 2 roods 11 perches. Capital value, £60. Half-yearly rent, £1 4s.
Situated on unformed branch road off Taurikura—Ody’s Road. Access is from Taurikura Post-office, which is about two miles distant by formed cart road, thence by unformed road three-quarters of a mile.
Sections 35 and 36: About one-third of area is deep black peaty swamp, about 10 acres flat with soil of poor bluey clay in tea-tree scrub. The balance is fairly easy undulating poor gum clay land in tea-tree scrub, with wild danthonia and gorse spreading. Elevation 50 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level.
Section 41: About 5 acres poor deep black peat swamp. Twenty acres wet flat in danthonia and tea-tree scrub, balance poor clay gumland undulating in tea-tree scrub, wild danthonia and gorse spreading. Permanent spring. Elevation 50 ft. to 150 ft. above sea-level.
Mongonui County.—Maungataniwha East Parish.—Part Wainui Block.
(Exempt from payment of rent for one year.)
Allotments 16, 17, and Lot 2, D.P. 21779, being part Allotment 18: Area, 246 acres 0 roods 29 perches. Capital value, £310. Half-yearly rent, £6 4s.
Situated on the Peria—Mangamuka Main Highway, about six miles from Peria; three miles and a half metalled, two miles and a half formed clay road. Butter factory at Oruru, nine miles distant. School and post-office at Te Kora, one mile and a half distant. Undulating to steep and broken
