Appointments, Promotions, Transfers, Resignations, and Retirements of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

Department of Defence,
Wellington, 20th April, 1931;

His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, transfers, resignations, and retirements of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces:

REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Lieutenant L. R. Webley, 9th Field Battery, to be Captain. Dated 17th March, 1931.

N.Z. INFANTRY.

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own).
Flying Officer W. B. Gillespie, N.Z. Air Force, ceases to be seconded to the 2nd C Battalion, and is attached to that battalion, with the rank of Lieutenant, for a period of twelve months. Dated 14th February, 1931.

The Wellington Regiment.
Lieutenant R. G. G. Dalglish, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 14th January, 1931, and is posted to the 3rd C Battalion. Dated 10th April, 1931.
2nd Lieutenant H. W. Wotton, from the Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from 4th November, 1929, and is posted to the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 10th April, 1931.
Thomas Geoffrey Bedding to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) and is posted to the 5th C Battalion. Dated 23rd March, 1931.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant H. W. Wotton, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 10th April, 1931.

The Hawke's Bay Regiment.
With reference to the notice published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 21, dated 19th March, 1931, relative to the transfer of Lieutenant Whyte, M.M., for "Lieutenant A. W. Whyte, M.M.," read "Lieutenant W. A. Whyte, M.M."

The Taranaki Regiment.
Murray Geddes to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st January, 1931.

The Canterbury Regiment.
Captain B. A. Y. Wynne-Yorke ceases to be seconded to the 1st C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 10th April, 1931.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.
Lieutenant R. G. G. Dalglish, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington Regiment. Dated 10th April, 1931.
2nd Lieutenant A. B. Griffin ceases to be attached to the 1st C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st April, 1931.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants cease to be posted to the 3rd C Battalion, and are posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 1st April, 1931:

The Southland Regiment.
Lieutenant F. M. Corkill, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 12. Dated 30th March, 1931.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) A. H. Robins, 1st C Battalion, is confirmed.

N.Z. AIR FORCE.
Flying Officer W. B. Gillespie ceases to be seconded to the 2nd C Battalion, The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly's Own), and is attached to that unit for a period of twelve months. Dated 14th February, 1931.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
The commission granted to Captain J. S. Currie, M.B., Northern Depot, is cancelled under section 5 (a), Defence Act, 1909. Dated 30th March, 1931.
Lieutenant J. A. D. Iverach, M.O., M.R., Otago University Medical Company, to be Captain. Dated 5th March, 1931.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

N.Z. Corps of Signals.
Lieutenant G. E. Smith resigns his commission. Dated 30th Match, 1931.

CORRIGENDA.

With reference to the notices published in the N.Z. Gazette No. 27, dated 9th April, 1931, relative to Colonel (temp. Brigadier) M. M. Gard'ner, D.S.O., and Lieut.-Colonel H. E. Pilkington, C.B.E., for the words "Regiment of N.Z. Artillery," read "Regiment of Royal N.Z. Artillery."

Defence Rifle Clubs accepted.

Mangaweka Defence Rifle Club, with headquarters at Mangaweka. Dated 20th March, 1931.
Brunnerton Defence Rifle Club, with headquarters at Brunnerton. Dated 10th April, 1931.

Varying Notification declaring Open Season for Imported Game and Native Game in Nelson Acclimatization District.

Pursuant to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend the Warrant dated the 12th March, 1931, made under the said Act and appearing in New Zealand Gazette, No. 20, of the 13th idem, at page 607, declaring an open season for the taking or killing of imported game and native game in the Nelson Acclimatization District by deleting from line eight of Condition 1 of such Warrant the word "Kohatu," and by substituting in lieu thereof the word "Motupiko."

In pursuance of the By-laws Act, 1910, I hereby confirm the within-written by-laws and declare that the same came into force on the 14th day of April, 1928.

Classification of Roads in Eketahuna County.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Transport Department Act, 1929, and the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and their amendments, I, William Burgoyne Taverner, Minister of Transport, do hereby declare that the roads described in the Schedule hereto, and situated in the Eketahuna County shall belong to the respective class of roads shown in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.
EKETAHUNA COUNTY.
Road classified in the Second Class: Available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry (other than a multi-axled motor-lorry) which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 8 tons, or any multi-axled motor-lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 10 tons:-

Main Highway No. 15 - Between Pahiatua County Boundary and Mauriceville County Boundary.
