Notice exempting Crown Land in the Auckland Land District
from the Operation of Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

I N pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by subsection two of section one
hundred and seventy-one of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and
of all other powers and authorities enabling me in this behalf,
I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion
of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in
the Schedule hereto and set apart for the purposes of State
Coal-mines as a village reserve by notice published in New
Zealand Gazette of the thirtieth day of September, one thousand
nine hundred and twenty, page 2760, save and excepting an
intersecting public road and that piece of land required for a
mining tramway, shall be exempt from the operation of
Part III of the Coal-mines Act, 1925, and do hereby further
declare that this notice shall take effect as from the date of
the gazetting hereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District containing by
admeasurement 320 acres 0 roods 33·7 perches, more or less,
being Sections 1, 2, and 3 of Block XIII, Rangiriri Survey
District: Bounded towards the north-east by Section 10,
Block X, Rangiriri Survey District, 808·6 and 4898·6 links ;
by a public road, 695·0 links, by the crossing of a public road,
and by Section 1, Block XIV, Rangiriri Survey District,
1768·1 links ; towards the south-east by Allotment 151,
Pepepe Parish, the abutment of a public road, the crossing of
land required for a mining tramway, and Allotments 85 and
148, Pepepe Parish, 3831·53 links ; towards the south generally
by a public road 96·6 links, the crossing of a public road,
and again by a public road, 208·4 links ; towards the south-
west and south-east by Allotment 130A, Whangape Parish,
865·1 and 599·75 links, respectively ; again towards the
south-west generally by a public road, 1845·1, 512·5, 189·0,
494·1, 435·6, 343·9, and 446·4 links, respectively ; and
towards the north-west by Section 5, Block XIII, Rangiriri
Survey District, Allotment 136, Whangape Parish, Section 4,
Block XIII, Rangiriri Survey District, the north-western
extremity of land required for a mining tramway and Allot-
ment 43, Whangape Parish, 3291·3, 1542·4, and 1106·8 links
respectively ; save and excepting an intersecting public road
and that piece of land required for a mining tramway as
shown on Auckland Plan S.O. 24194 : be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. As the same is more particularly
delineated on the plan marked Mines N. 11/5, deposited in
the Head Office, Mines Department, Wellington, and thereon
edged red. (Auckland Plans : S.O. 20361/1–2, and S.O. 21280
and 24194.)

General, this 13th day of April, 1931.

General has, in pursuance of the provisions of the
Fisheries Act, 1908, and of the Official Appointments and
Documents Act, 1919, appointed

John Luff, jun.,

of Westport, to be an officer for the purposes of Part II of the
first-mentioned Act, in respect of the Buller Acclimatization
District.

Harold James Henderson,

to be Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Riverton for the
purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, Clerk of the
Warden’s Court, Receiver of Gold Revenue and Mining
Registrar at Riverton for the Otago Mining District constituted
under the Mining Act, 1926, and Clerk of the Licensing Com-
mittee for the District of Wallace, as from the 10th day of
April, 1931.

George Ernest Brown

to be an officer for the purposes of section 234 (1) (b) of the
Harbours Act, 1923, as from the 19th day of August, 1927.

Arthur Frederic Owen Clarke

to be Clerk of the Magistrates’ Court at Pahiatua for the
purposes of the Magistrates’ Courts Act, 1928, and to be
Registrar of Electors and Returning Officer for the Electoral
District of Pahiatua for the purposes of the Electoral Act,
1927, as from the 15th day of April, 1931.

to be Registrar of Electors and Returning Officer for the
Electoral District of Wallace for the purposes of the Electoral
Act, 1927, as from the 21st day of March, 1931.

Gavin Eugene Pollock

to be Registrar of Marriages and of Births and Deaths for the

Joseph Hardy Fletcher

to be Registrar of Marriages and Registrar of Births and
