At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of April, 1931.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Public Works Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby direct the sale of the stopped Government road described in the Schedule hereto.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of stopped Government road directed to be sold:—
A. R. P. Adjoining or passing through

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 80326, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Order in Council consenting to the Raising of a Loan of £7,850 by the Lower Hutt Borough Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of April, 1931.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Lower Hutt Borough Council (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) is desirous of raising the sum of seven thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds by a loan to be known as “Acquisition of Land and Street-widening Loan (1926) Redemption (Portion) Loan, 1931,” for the purpose of redeeming the outstanding liability in respect of a portion, viz.: £10,000, maturing on fourteenth April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, of the Acquisition of Land and Street-widening Loan (1926) of £26,000:
And whereas the said local authority has complied with the provisions of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council under the said Act should be given to the raising of the said loan on the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth:
And whereas the Minister of Finance has given his precedent consent as required by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, to the borrowing by the said local authority of the said sum of seven thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds, at a rate or rates of interest being such as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate of six pounds per centum per annum:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act and by section one hundred and fourteen of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the raising by the said local authority of the said loan up to the amount of seven thousand eight hundred and fifty pounds for a term of five years, at such rate or rates of interest as shall not produce to the lenders a rate exceeding the rate of six pounds per centum per annum, subject to the condition that the said local authority shall, before borrowing the said sum or any part thereof, make provision for the repayment thereof by establishing a sinking fund under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and shall thereafter make to such sinking fund payments at intervals of not more than one year, at a rate or rates which shall be not less than the rate of one pound ten shillings per centum, such payments to be made in respect of every part of the said sum for the time being so borrowed and not repaid, and the first payment to be made not later than one year after the first day from which interest to the lender is computed on any moneys so borrowed, and subject to the further condition that repayments of principal of at least two hundred pounds be made annually during the currency of the loan.

Order in Council authorizing Borrowing by Hypothecation of Debentures issued by the Auckland Hospital Board in respect of a Loan of £10,000.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 20th day of April, 1931.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Auckland Hospital Board (hereinafter called “the said local authority”) has been authorized to borrow in respect of a loan to be known as “Building Loan, 1931,” the sum of ten thousand pounds, and the said sum has not yet been borrowed:
And whereas the said local authority is desirous of borrowing, pursuant to section thirty-four of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the sum of eight thousand pounds by the hypothecation or mortgage of the debentures authorized to be issued in respect of the said loan:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, doth hereby consent to the borrowing of the said sum of eight thousand pounds by the hypothecation or mortgage of the said debentures, and the said local authority is hereby authorized to borrow the said sum accordingly.

Waste Land Development.—Amending Regulations under Section 3 of the Land Act, 1924.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 13th day of April, 1931.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section three of the Land Act, 1924 (hereinafter referred to as the said Act), His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend in the manner set forth in the Schedule hereto the regulations under the said Act (hereinafter referred to as the said regulations), made on the thirty-first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and published in the Gazette of the third day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven.
SCHEDULE.
CLAUSES 6, 7, and 8 of the said regulations are hereby amended by omitting from each of the said clauses the word “total” and substituting the word “ploughable,” and by adding at the end of each of the said clauses the words “of the total area of his selection.”
