Declaring Lake Heron to be a Sanctuary under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, Ashburton Acclimatization District.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
Pursuant to the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921-22, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be a sanctuary for the purposes of the said Act, and that no imported game or native game shall be taken or killed within the said area, except pursuant to an authority granted under section thirty-one or section thirty-two of the said Act; nor shall any person, except under such conditions as may from time to time be prescribed by the Minister, take any dog or firearm into such area, or discharge any firearm or explosive in such area, or do anything likely to cause any imported game or native game to leave such area.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,800 acres, more or less, and being Reserve No. 4260 (also known as Lake Heron), situated in Blocks VII, VIII, XI, and XII, Heron Survey District, and bounded on all sides by a two-chain road reserve. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 23/892/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 13th day of March, 1931.

Notifying Lands in North Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

In pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday, the twenty-fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Waitemata County.—Takapuna Parish.
Lot 2 on D.P. 22700, being the south-eastern portion of Allotment 204, Takapuna Parish: Area, 14 acres 3 roods 31 perches. Upset price, £180.
Situated on main Birkenhead–Albany highway. Access is from Birkenhead or Takapuna, which are about seven miles distant. A regular bus service passes. The section is undulating, but nearly all ploughable. Soil is clay resting on clay formation carrying tea-tree and a lot of self-sown pines. Handy to Glenfield Post-office and school.

Waitemata County.—Waikomiti Parish.

Lot 1 is weighted with £300 for improvements, which may be paid for in cash or secured by mortgage under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act for twenty years, with interest at 5½ per cent. per annum. Costs of preparation and registration of mortgage are payable by the selector.
Sections are situated in McLeod’s Road, Henderson. Only a few minutes walk from the new concrete road, railway-station, and school. A good bus service passes within three minutes of the sections.
Section 1: Practically level. There is a house of four rooms, washhouse, and porch, built of good timber, on this section, and the value of this is included in the price.
Sections 2, 3, 4: Practically level land.
Section 5: This section has a gully running through it, but possesses a good building-site.
TOWN SETTLEMENT LAND.
Eden County.—Carroll Settlement.
Section 9: Area, 34·7 perches. Upset price, £300.
Section is situated in Waiohua Street off Great South Road, about five minutes from Ellerslie Railway-station and school, and eight minutes from Great South Road Tram-terminus. Frequent bus service. Suitable for residence.
Section 26: Area, 34 perches. Upset price, £250.
The section is situated off Great South Road, about seven minutes’ walk to Ellerslie Railway-station and school, and about ten minutes from Great South Road. Soil is of rich volcanic nature, with fair amount of stone in front part of section. Admirably situated for residential purposes, being within half-hour journey from Auckland by tram, train, or bus.
Section 38: Area, 34·48 perches. Upset price, £260.
Residential-site situated in Konini Road, One Tree Hill, about six minutes’ walk to Ellerslie Railway-station and school, and about eight minutes from Great South Road car-terminus. Rich volcanic soil, free from rock.
SUBURBAN SETTLEMENT LAND.
Waitemata County.—Waari Hamlet.
Section 57: Area, 1 acre. Upset price, £125.
Situated on Awarua Road, Oratia, about a quarter of a mile from concrete road and bus service to and from Auckland, one mile and a quarter from Henderson Railway-station, and three-quarters of a mile from Oratia Railway-station.
Land is high lying and level to undulating. The land had had one ploughing and a hedge planted on the back boundary, otherwise it is unimproved. Nicely situated for a dwelling.
Waitemata County.—Waari Hamlet.
Sections 44 and 45: Area, 5 acres 2 roods 1 perch. Upset price, £415.
Situated about a quarter of a mile from the Oratia Railway-station and about one mile from Henderson Railway-station by formed and metalled roads. Sections comprise easy undulating to level land all in grass, ring-fenced, and subdivided into two paddocks.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Tuesday, the twenty-first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
