Notifying Lands in Otago Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday, the sixteenth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
Waitaki County.—Awamoko Survey District.—Windsor Park Settlement.
CROWN LAND.
Section 10A: Area, 10 acres 3 roods 10 perches. Upset price, £155. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £4 14s. 3d.
The section is undulating, with a southerly aspect. Soil of fair quality, resting on clay and gravel formation. Watered by stream. Area at present in bad state with gorse. The section adjoins Ngapara Railway-station, school, and post-office.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Waitaki County.—Otepopo Survey District.
Section 40, Block IX: Area, 110 acres 3 roods. Upset price, £55. Deposit on deferred payments, £5; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £1 12s. 6d.
Situated about four miles by road from Herbert. Part clay road, and portions very steep. About 40 acres comprises poor bush; balance fern. The section is divided by a very deep gully, and hillsides are steep and broken. Soil of poor quality, resting on gravel and schist rock formation. Well watered by streams. Altitude about 500 ft. to 600 ft. above sea-level.

Opening Lands in the Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Friday, the twentieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Waiomo County.—Maungamangero Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent for five years.)
Section 6, Block II: Area, 913 acres. Capital value, £340. Half-yearly rent, £6 16s.
Weighted with £180, for improvements comprising dwelling, three sheds, 30 chains road-boundary fencing, 40 chains boundary-fence, 90 chains subdivisional fences, and felling and grassing. This sum is payable in cash or may be secured to the State Advances Superintendent by instalment mortgage for 36½ years, with interest at 5 per cent.; free of interest for two years from date of selection. Half-yearly instalment, £5 8s.
Grazing property, situated on the Pomarangi Road, seven miles from Waitanguru School, twenty-one miles from Piopio Dairy Factory and saleyards, and thirty-one miles from Te Kuiti Railway-station. The soil is of a light loam resting on sandstone and limestone formation, watered by streams. Section lies high, and is broken. Subdivided into three paddocks. There is a sprinkling of foglove and ragwort, requiring attention. Approximately 300 acres have been felled and grassed, now mostly reverted; balance of 613 acres in standing bush.
Tauranga County.—Aongatete Survey District.
National-endowment Land.
Section 2, Block VI: Area, 183 acres 1 rood. Capital value, £50. Half-yearly rent, £1.
Section 7, Block IX: Area, 150 acres 1 rood 34 perches. Capital value, £75. Half-yearly rent, £1 10s.
Section 10, Block IX: Area, 82 acres. Capital value, £30. Half-yearly rent, 12s.
These wholly unimproved sections are situated from thirteen to sixteen miles from Tauranga, approximately a quarter of a mile to three miles from the main Tauranga-Waihi Highway, which is a good formed metalled road. Approximately two miles from the Pohoio Railway-station, and a similar distance from Apata Railway-station. Cream lorry passes the section.
Section 2 comprises small flats to easy and broken low hilly country, with a growth of fern, manuka, and hakea. Somewhat poorly watered by springs in gullies.
Section 7 comprises a fair area of ploughable flats and easy hills to waste gullies. Approximately 75 per cent. of the area can be ploughed when cleared of fern, manuka, and hakea, of which there is a fair growth in parts. Fairly well watered by springs.
Section 10 comprises a fair area of flats and easy hills, sloping to the Wainui River at back of section, from which it is well watered. Approximately 75 per cent. of the area can be ploughed when cleared of fern, and manuka, and a patch of about 20 acres of hakea.
The soil on all of the sections is a light pumice loam, resting on pumice formation. Altitude from 300 ft. to 550 ft. above sea-level.
FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Tauranga County.—Aongatete Survey District.
National-endowment Land.
Section 9, Block IX: Area, 117 acres 2 roods 20 perches. Capital value, £120. Half-yearly rent, £2 8s.
This unimproved section is situated thirteen miles from Tauranga, and is a quarter of a mile by formed road from Tauranga-Waihi Main Highway, which is a good formed metalled road. Cream lorry passes section.
The soil is a light pumice loam resting on pumice formation. Comprises a fair area of ploughable flats, terraces, and faces, and it is estimated that approximately 70 per cent. of this section could be ploughed when cleared. At present covered with fern, manuka, and hakea. Well watered by springs and creeks.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Friday, the twentieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.

This unimproved section is situated thirteen miles and a half from Tauranga, and is half a mile by formed road from Tauranga-Waihi Main Highway, which is a good formed metalled road. Cream lorry passes section. The soil is a light pumice loam resting on pumice formation.
