the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes
and levies a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound
upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the Borough
of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the said borough,
on the basis of the unimproved value, and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of July in
each and every year during the currency of such loan, being
a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Carried this 10th day of January, 1930.

OTAGO ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Otago Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing principal, interest, and
other charges on the Otago Extension Loan of £15,000, autho-
rized to be raised by the Otago Electric-power Board under
the above-mentioned Act, the Otago Electric-power Board
hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/10d. in the pound
sterling upon the rateable value (being capital value) of all
rateable property in the original Otago area, specially described
by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette of the 18th October,
1923, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring
rate during the currency of such loan, and shall be payable
on the first day of September in each and every year during
the currency of such loan of twenty-six years, or until the
loan is fully paid off.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Drainage Loan, 1929.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
New Plymouth Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest,
and other charges on a loan of £172,000 authorized to be
raised by the New Plymouth Borough Council under the
above-mentioned Act for the purposes of providing a system
of drainage for the Borough of New Plymouth, and of pro-
viding funds out of which advances may be made to the
owner or owners of any premises in pursuance of the provisions
of Part XXII of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the
said New Plymouth Borough Council hereby makes and
levies a special rate of twopence halfpenny in the pound on
the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value)
of all rateable property of the whole of the Borough of New
Plymouth, as defined in the New Zealand Gazette of the 1st
day of May, 1913, at page 1514, and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
loan, and shall be payable yearly on the first day of May
in each and every year during the currency of such loan,
being a period of twenty-four and a half years from the 31st
day of March, 1930, or until the loan is fully paid off.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the
Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and the Acts amending
the same.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Christchurch City
Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-
named Acts and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that
behalf, to execute a certain work—namely, the erection of
an electricity substation—and for the purposes of such public
work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required
to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan
of the land so required to be taken in deposited in the public
offices of the Lands and Survey Department, Government
Buildings, Durham Street, in the said city, and is there open
for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary
office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution
of such public work and the taking of such lands should, if
they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the
said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth
the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days
from the first publication of this notice, to the Christchurch
City Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his office,
Manchester Street, Christchurch.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land, containing two and four-tenths
perches, situated in the City of Christchurch, being part
of Lot 1; as the same is shown on the plan above referred
to and therein coloured pink, being part of Rural Section 484,
and being part of Certificate of Title, Vol. 336, folio 340.
