NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND FOR ROAD.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Great Barrier Island County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a public work—namely, the construction of a public road through the northern portion of Allotment 19, Aotea Parish—and for the purpose of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the said road and of the land required to be taken is deposited for public inspection at the office of the Great Barrier Island County Council, Tryphena, Great Barrier Island: And notice is hereby further given that all persons affected by the execution of such public work or by the taking of such land shall, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land, set forth the same in writing, and send the same within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Council office, Great Barrier Island.

SCHEDULE.

Approximate area of land required to be taken: 4 acres and 39 perches. Being part of the northern portion Allotment 19, Aotea Parish, and shown (coloured yellow) on said plan. (Plan No. 25027.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund on a loan of £14,000, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the following purposes, namely:—

To enable the said Council to construct and install one 6 in. diameter artesian well, underground cistern of 100,000 gallons capacity, to provide two electrically operated pumps, erection of pump-house, and purchase of land, and to lay 9-in. diameter mains in Ruahine Street, 12-in. diameter mains in Featherston Street, and 18-in. mains in Rangitikei Street;
