IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1928, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations under the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1908, enuring under the Orchard and Garden Diseases Act, 1928, governing the removal of certain plants and bees from the North Island into any other portion of New Zealand, made on the sixth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-seven, and published in the Gazette on the ninth day of the same month at page 1987 (hereinafter called “the principal regulations”), by inserting, following the word “quince” wherever it occurs in the principal regulations (that is to say, in clause two thereof, and in subclause one of clause three thereof, and in the Second Schedule thereto), the words “cotoneaster, medlar”; and doth hereby declare that the amendment hereby made shall come into force on and from the date of the publication hereof in the Gazette.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Dairy Industry Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend, to the extent and in the manner hereinafter provided, the regulations (hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”) under the said Act relating to the inspection and registration of dairies, made by Order in Council on the twenty-fourth day of December, one thousand nine hundred, and published in the Gazette on the tenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and one, at page 66, and doth hereby declare that such amending regulations shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof in the Gazette.

REGULATIONS.
- CLAUSES 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 of the principal regulations, and Order in Council made on the twentieth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twenty, and published in the Gazette on the twenty-second day of the same month, at page 3355, in amendment of clause 6 of the principal regulations are hereby revoked, and the following clauses substituted in lieu thereof:—
REGISTRATION OF DAIRIES.

Every owner or occupier of a cow-shed or other building or place where cows are stalled or kept for the purpose of milking (whether now in existence or hereafter to be constructed) who sells, or offers for sale, either solely or partly for human consumption, as milk or cream within the Dominion any milk or cream produced from cows in or upon any such premises shall register such premises as a dairy with the Inspector for the district in which such premises are situated.

(1) Every application for registration shall be in the form No. 1 set forth in the Schedule hereto or to the like effect. Copies of such form may be obtained at the office of any Inspector.
(2) Every application for registration shall be lodged with the Inspector for the district at least one month prior to the commencement of operations.
- (1) Every certificate of registration shall be in the form No. 2 set forth in the Schedule hereto, and any such certificate may be withheld pending the completion in accordance with these regulations of the premises sought to be registered.
(2) Every certificate of registration shall continue in force, unless previously cancelled in accordance with these regulations, until the 31st day of March following the date of registration, and shall then expire: Provided that if the holder of any such certificate of registration shall apply in each succeeding year for a renewal of such certificate in pursuance of clause 5 hereof then such certificate shall, unless previously cancelled, remain in force for further successive periods of twelve months longer than it would have done but for each such application.
- (1) Every owner of a dairy registered in accordance with these regulations shall, if he desires the registration to continue in force after the 31st day of March in any year, make application to the Inspector for the district not later than the 1st day of March in that year for the renewal of the certificate of registration in force in respect thereof, but no renewal of such certificate shall take effect in respect of such dairy prior to the 1st day of April in that year.
(2) Every such application shall be in the form No. 3 in the Schedule hereto, or to the like effect. Copies of such form may be obtained at the office of any Inspector.
- (1) The fee to be paid on the application for every registration, and on the application for every renewal of a certificate of registration subsisting and in force in accordance with these regulations, shall be the sum of ten shillings. In the event of registration being refused a refund of the fee so paid shall be made to the applicant.
(2) The fee to be paid on the application for every duplicate certificate of registration shall be the sum of two shillings and sixpence.
(3) No such duplicate certificate shall be issued except upon such documentary evidence of the loss of the original certificate as the Inspector shall deem sufficient.

ALL certificates of registration which originated under the provisions of the principal regulations and are subsisting and in force on the coming into operation of these regulations shall enure for the purposes of such regulations as fully and effectively as if they had originated under the corresponding provisions thereof, and accordingly shall be deemed to have so originated.

THE Schedule to the principal regulations is hereby revoked and the following Schedule substituted in lieu thereof:—
