Notifying Lands in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Thursday, the twenty-ninth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash, and I hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

These sections are situated twenty-seven miles from Fairlie, by a good road; they are undulating and rocky in parts, but a good building-site commanding a nice view of Lake Tekapo can be found on each lot. Water is available by pumping from the river. Sections 1 to 8 (inclusive) have frontage to Sealy Street, and the balance to new road connecting Alexandra Terrace and Mackenzie Street. A splendid opportunity to any one desirous of erecting a home or summer residence in this beautiful locality.

Notifying Settlement Land in Otago Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the fourteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one, as the time at which the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.-SETTLEMENT LAND.-FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Borough of Mosgiel.-East Taieri Survey District.-Melville Park Settlement.
SECTION ls : Area, 36 acres 1 rood 28 perches. Upset price, £1,606. Deposit on deferred payments, £106; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £48 15s.
Improvements included in price of land include dwelling and washhouse, windmill and trough, and boundary and subdivisional fencing.
Melville Park Settlement is situated in the Borough of Mosgiel within easy distance of railway-station, post-office, and district high school. The land is level and of very fine quality, the soil being a very rich black loam resting on a sandy clay formation. Access is by level, well-formed roads. The land is admirably suited for dairying or intense cultivation.
Mosgiel has an excellent water-supply, electric lighting, and a large well-known woollen factory.

Opening Lands in the Otago Land District for Sale or Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on Monday, the twelfth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty-one; and also that the lands mentioned in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof.
SCHEDULE.
OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Clutha County.-Woodland Survey District.
PART Section 28, Block X : Area, 137 acres 3 roods 37 perches. Capital value, £175. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £5 7s. 3d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £3 10s.
Improvements, not included in the capital value and to be paid for separately, comprise half-share of 47 chains west boundary fencing, £4 14s.
Situated one mile from Tarara Post and Telegraph Office and four miles and a half from Caberfeidh Railway-station. School adjoining section. Access from Owaka, eleven miles distant, by formed and metalled road, or from Caberfeidh Railway-station, four miles and a half distant. Road from Caberfeidh to section formed but not all metalled. Land undulating, but mostly level and lying well to the sun. All virgin bush (mixed, no birch). Soil of good quality, sharp loam resting on clay formation. Well watered by creeks.
THIRD-CLASS LAND.
Clutha County.-Glenomaru Survey District.
Sections 42, 43, and 44, Block X : Area, 642 acres 2 roods 3 perches. Capital value, £225. Deposit on deferred payments, £15 ; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £6 16s. 6d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £4 10s.
Improvements, not included in the capital value and to be paid for separately, comprise : Dwelling, scullery, and cow-bye, £300; about 180 acres felled, burned, and grassed, £160; and about 180 chains internal fencing, £60; total, £520. This sum may be paid in cash, or left on mortgage for a term of twenty years, interest in the case of a civilian to be 5½ per cent., and in the case of a discharged soldier 5 per cent.
Situated four miles from Glenomaru Railway-station and post-office, five miles from Glenomaru School, and nine miles from Owaka. Access by good formed road from Glenomaru. Well watered by creeks and springs. Suitable for grazing sheep and dry cattle. About 180 acres felled and grassed; balance bush. Large portion of the land steep and back-lying.
