Appointing a Member of the Napier Harbour Board.

BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.

WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty-seven of the Harbours Act, 1923, that in the case of the death of a member of a Harbour Board the vacancy created by his death shall be deemed to be an extraordinary vacancy :

And whereas it is provided by subsection two of section thirty-eight of the said Act that, in the event of an extraordinary vacancy in the office of an elective member of the Board other than a representative of a constituent district, the Governor-General may, by Warrant under his hand, appoint some qualified person in his place :

And whereas Ernest Albert Goodger, an elective member of the Napier Harbour Board, being a representative of the combined district of the Borough of Waipukurau and the County of Waipukurau, is deceased, and an extraordinary vacancy in the membership of the Board has thereby been created, and it is desirable to appoint some qualified person in his place :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited power and authority, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, doth hereby appoint

Douglas Barrington Kent

to be a member of the Napier Harbour Board as a representative of the combined district aforesaid, in the place of Ernest Albert Goodger, deceased.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 7th day of November, 1930.

Ranger under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, appointed.

IT is hereby notified that, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by section 35 of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, the under-mentioned person has been appointed a Ranger under and for the purposes of that Act for the Westland, Marlborough, and Nelson Acclimatization Districts.

Appointment of Deputy District Public Trustee.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the power and authority vested in me by section 3 of the Public Trust Office Amendment Act, 1921–22, I, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, have appointed Clarence Noel Irvine, of the Public Trust Office, Whangarei, to be Deputy of the District Public Trustee, Whangarei, during the absence of such District Public Trustee from his headquarters, and, all previous appointments in this behalf are hereby revoked.
