BOROUGH OF SUMNER.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

Relief of Unemployment Loan, 1930, £1,000, adopted 13th
October, 1930.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Sumner Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £1,000, authorized to be raised by the
Sumner Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act,
and the Local Authorities Empowering (Relief of Unemploy-
ment) Act, 1926, and amendments thereof, in order to provide
and undertake the following works for the relief of unemploy-
ment in the borough:—

Sam and Queen Streets: Formation, &c. .. 310
Arnold Street: Formation, &c. .. 240
Celia Street: Formation, &c. .. 50
Pratt Street and Bay View Road: Formation 200
Protective Sea-wall from Euston Street .. 1,400

Less Government subsidy .. .. 1,200

and an Order in Council, dated 18th September, 1930, having
been obtained, the said Sumner Borough Council hereby
makes and levies a special rate of 0·1 (one-tenth) of a penny
in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all
rateable property in the Borough of Sumner; and resolves
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st
day of August in each and every year during the currency
of such loan, being a period of fourteen years (from the 1st
October, 1930), or until the loan is fully paid off.

MANAWATU-OROUA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board hereby resolves as
follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a supplementary loan of £50,000, authorized to be
raised by the Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board under
the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the
undertaking in respect of which a loan of £500,000 has already
been raised for construction of transmission and distribution
lines, substations, purchasing and erection of all necessary
equipment, motors, works, plant, machinery, apparatus,
motor-vehicles and conveyances, lands, easements, and
buildings, office furnishings, fittings, and requisites, and for
providing for the cost of survey and other preliminary works
and expenses of administration, and for provision for financial
assistance to consumers to enable them to connect up, and
for generally exercising its rights and powers as might be
deemed expedient by the Board under the authority of the
Electric-power Boards Act, 1918, and its amendments, the
said Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power Board hereby makes
and levies a special rate of one-eleventh part of a penny
in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property
of the Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power District, comprising
the whole of the said district; and that such special rate
shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such
supplementary loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of
July in each and every year during the currency of such
supplementary loan, being a period of twenty years, or until
the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a
resolution passed by the Manawatu-Oroua Electric-power
Board on the 13th day of October, 1930, and appearing in the
minute-book of the said Board.

1930, the following extraordinary resolution was duly
passed by the company:—
“ That it is proved to its satisfaction that the company
cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and
that it is advisable to wind up the same, and that it accordingly
be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies

that it cannot carry on by reason of its liabilities, and that
therefore the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr.

appointed auditor.”

that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, carry on
its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same,
and that it be wound up accordingly in terms of the Companies
Act, 1908, and its amendments, and that ROBERT ARTHUR

hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-
