Notifying Land in Canterbury Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

Wellington, 29th September, 1930.
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I hereby notify that the undermentioned land, being the land known as Clunes Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Act, is subject to the said Act as from 31st October, 1929.

SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—CLUNES SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 426 acres 0 roods 36 perches, more or less, and being Rural Sections 27945, 27946, 27947, and parts 21495, 21943, and 23514, situated in Blocks VII and XI, Spaxton Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the north-west by the West Coast Road; towards the north-east generally by other part of Rural Section 21495 and by Rural Sections 28775 and 28776; towards the south-east by Rural Sections 29949 and 21494; and again towards the south-west by other parts of Rural Sections 21943 and 23514 and by Rural Section 23724. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 21/149/704, deposited under No. 2437, in Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block XI, Tauakira Survey District, for the Purposes of a Road.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Ranana, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Appointing the Day for holding the First Election of Members of the Board of the Waihopai Rabbit District.—(Notice No. Ag. 2935.)
PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by section 49 (2) of the Rabbit Nuisance Act, 1928, I, Alfred James Murdoch, Minister of Agriculture, hereby appoint Wednesday, the 19th day of November, 1930, as the day on which the first election of members of the Board of the Waihopai Rabbit District constituted under the said Act shall be held. Dated at Wellington, this 8th day of October, 1930.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-order and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for “Ever Progressive” Sweep Promoters, Melbourne.
THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand having reasonable ground for supposing that the persons and organization whose names and addresses are shown in the Schedule hereunder are engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of either of the said persons or organization shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to either of the said persons or organization (either by his or its own or any fictitious or assumed name) or addressed to any of the addresses in the Schedule hereunder without a name shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.
