DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between WILLIAM BAIRD, of Waerenga-a-hika, near Gisborne, Sheep-farmer, and ROBERT BERNARD BAIRD, of Matawai, near Gisborne, Sheep-farmer, carrying on business as Sheep-farmers at Matawai aforesaid under the style or firm of “W. Baird and Son,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 30th day of September, 1930. Such business will henceforth be carried on by the said Robert Bernard Baird at the premises aforesaid. All debts due to and owing by the late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said Robert Bernard Baird.

Dated at Gisborne, this 1st day of October, 1930.

IN LIQUIDATION.

At a meeting of shareholders of the above company held on the 29th September, 1930, the following resolution was passed:

It was resolved : “That, in view of the fact that a Receiver has been appointed for the first and second debenture-holders, and that the company has insufficient liquid assets to meet its liabilities, that the company go into voluntary liquidation, and that W. H. NANKERVIS, of Wellington, Public Accountant, be appointed Liquidator.”

All accounts should be forwarded to the Liquidator not later than the 15th October, 1930.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.

EXTRACTS FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL, AT A MEETING OF SUCH COUNCIL HELD ON THE 1ST DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1930.

Resolution making Special Rate as Security for Special Loan of £12,150.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Napier Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:- That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £12,150, authorized to be raised by the Napier Borough Council by a poll of ratepayers taken on the 21st day of May, 1930, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of-

Providing additional water-supply for the Borough of Napier, and in connection therewith constructing a low-level reservoir and purchasing the necessary site, constructing a new pumping-station, installing high- and low-lift pumps for pumping water to the new reservoir and to Napier Terrace, and laying mains from artesian wells in Nelson and McLean Parks to the said pumping-station, and from the said pumping-station to the new reservoir and Napier Terrace,

the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twenty-nine two-hundredths (29/200ths) of a penny in the pound (£) upon all rateable property (on the basis of the unimproved value) within the Borough of Napier, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 14th day of August in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Napier Borough Council at the meeting above mentioned.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Horowhenua County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work-namely, the construction of a road-and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate in the Council Chambers, Bath Street, Levin, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.

All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk at his said office.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, and in the matter of G. W. RUSSELL, LIMITED.

At an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company, duly convened and held at Christchurch on the 2nd day of October, 1930, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :-

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. J. H. STRINGER be appointed Liquidator for the purposes of the winding-up.”
