Setting apart and defining Boundaries of Provisional State
Forests under the Forests Act, 1921-22.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section seven of the Forests Amendment
Act, 1926, certain timber licenses and other timber-cutting rights granted in the Karamea and Westland Mining
Districts without authority or in excess of authority were
validated, and the lands comprised therein were constituted
provisional State forests under the Forests Act, 1921-22:
And whereas the boundaries of the lands so constituted provisional State forests have nowhere been defined: And
whereas it is desirable to define those boundaries and to set
apart other lands within the said mining districts as provisional
State forests :

Now, therefore, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Forests
Act, 1921-22, and of all other powers enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby declare that the lands comprised
within the boundaries described in the Schedule hereto, in so
far as such lands were not constituted provisional State
forests by the operation of section seven of the Forests Amendment Act, 1926, shall be, and shall be deemed as from the
passing of the last-mentioned Act to have been, provisional
State forests under the Forests Act, 1921-22.

SCHEDULE.

NELSON LAND DISTRICT.--NELSON-MARLBOROUGH
CONSERVATION-REGION.

Provisional State Forest No. 55.

All those areas in the Buller Coalfields Reserve containing
3,827 acres, more or less, and described generally as follows :-

All that area containing 1,600 acres, more or less, situated
in Blocks XIV and XV, Mokihinui Survey District, held
under Warden's grants Nos. 6959, 6960, 6981, and 6982, and
bounded generally as follows : Towards the north by Section
9, Block X, Mokihinui Survey District, Section 56, Block XI,
Mokihinui Survey District, and Crown land ; towards the
north-east by Sections 26 and 27, Block XI aforesaid, and
Section 98, Block XV aforesaid ; towards the south-east and
south-west by Crown land ; towards the north-west by
Crown land, Sections 12, 10, 14, and 18, Block XIV aforesaid,
by Patten's Creek, and by Sections 9 and 19, Block XIV
aforesaid; again towards the north-east by Sections 16 and
4, Block XIV aforesaid; again towards the north-west by
Section 4 aforesaid; again towards the south-west by Sections
4 and 16 aforesaid; and again towards the north-west by
Section 8, Block XIV aforesaid, and Section 11, Block X
aforesaid.

Also all that area containing 1,180 acres, more or less,
situated in Blocks XIV and XV, Mokihinui Survey District,
and Block III, Ngakawau Survey District, held under Warden's
grants Nos. 6515, 6516, and 6517, and bounded generally as
follows : Towards the north-east, south-east, south-west,
and north-west by Crown land.

Also all that area containing 400 acres, more or less, situated
in Block XVI, Mokihinui Survey District, and Blocks III and
IV, Ngakawau Survey District, held under Warden's grant
No. 5248, and bounded generally as follows : Towards the
north, east, south, and north-west by the area proclaimed to
be administered by the State Forest Service as described in
Gazette, 1927, page 3565; and towards the west by Coal
Creek.

And also all that area containing 647 acres, more or less,
situated in Block XIV, Mokihinui Survey District, and Block
II, Ngakawau Survey District, held under Warden's grants
Nos. 3972 and 6514, and bounded generally as follows :
Towards the north-east, south-east, west, and again towards
the south-east by Crown land ; and towards the south-west
and north-west by the area proclaimed to be administered by
the State Forest Service as described in Gazette, 1928, page
2045.

Provisional State Forest No. 57.

All that area of Crown land containing 129 acres 3 roods
6 perches, more or less, being portion of Sections 8 and 9,
Block VII, Kawatiri Survey District, held under Warden's
grant No. 6794, and bounded generally as follows : Towards
the east by a road; towards the south by Section 7, Block
VII aforesaid ; towards the south-west by other portion of
Sections 8 and 9 aforesaid ; towards the north by Sections 12
and 11 aforesaid ; and towards the north-east by other portion
of Section 9 aforesaid.

Part of Provisional State Forest No. 92.

All that area of Crown land (Midland Railway Mining
Reserve) containing 14 acres, more or less, being portion of
the Township of Blackwater, situated in Block IX, Waitahu
Survey District, held under Warden's grant No. 3594, and
bounded generally as follows : Towards the south-east by
other portion of the Township of Blackwater ; towards the
north-west by Provisional State Forest No. 132 (Gazette, 1920,
page 2112); and towards the north-east by Provisional State
Forest No. 92 (Gazette, 1920, page 926).

Part of Provisional State Forest No. 128.

All these areas of national-endowment land containing
2,364 acres 3 roods, more or less, and described generally as
follows :-

All that area containing 350 acres, more or less, being portion
of Sections 13, 14, 16, and 17, Block I, Waitakere Survey
District, held under Warden's grant No. 5870, and bounded
generally as follows : Towards the east by other portion of
Sections 14, 16, and 17 aforesaid ; towards the south by other
portion of Sections 17 and 16 aforesaid ; towards the west
by other portion of Sections 16 and 13 aforesaid ; towards
the north by other portion of Section 13 aforesaid ; and towards
the north-east by other portion of Sections 13 and 14 afore-said: save and excepting the intersecting roads.

Also all that area containing 1,020 acres, more or less, situated
in Blocks I and IV, Waitakere Survey District, held under
Warden's grant No. 5871, and described generally as follows :
All that area, being portion of Sections 16, 18, 20, and 21,
Block I aforesaid, and bounded generally as follows : Towards
the north by other portion of Sections 18 and 16 aforesaid ;
towards the south-east by other portion of Sections 16, 18,
and 20 aforesaid ; towards the north-east by other portions
of Sections 20 and 21 aforesaid ; again towards the south-east by Sections 24 and 28, Block IV aforesaid ; towards the
south-west by a road ; towards the west and south by
Section 6, Block I aforesaid ; again towards the west by
Section 18A, Block I aforesaid ; again towards the north by
a road ; and again towards the west by other portion of
Section 18 aforesaid (part of Provisional State Forest No. 128,
Gazette, 1929, pages 1442 and 1757); save and excepting the
intersecting roads. Also all that area, being portion of Sections
25 and 26, Block IV aforesaid, and bounded generally as
follows : Towards the north-east by other portions of Section
25 aforesaid, by a road, and by other portion of Section 26
aforesaid ; towards the south-east and south by other portion
of Section 26 aforesaid ; towards the south-west by other
portion of Sections 26 and 25 aforesaid ; and towards the
west by other portion of Section 25 aforesaid, and by
Section 5, Block IV aforesaid.

Also all that area containing 80 acres 1 rood 16 perches,
more or less, being portion of Section 24, Block IV, Waitakere
Survey District, held under Warden's grant No. 6518, and
bounded generally as follows : Towards the north-west and
north-east by other portion of Section 24 aforesaid ; towards
the south-east by a road ; and towards the south-west and
again towards the south-east by Section 37, Block IV aforesaid;
and again towards the south-west by a road.

Also all that area containing 219 acres 2 roods 24 perches,
more or less, being Section 3 and national-endowment
land, Block IV, Waitakere Survey District, held under
Warden's grant No. 6577, and bounded generally as follows :
Towards the north by a road and national-endowment land ;
towards the east by national-endowment land ; towards the
south by the Totara River and a road ; and towards the
west by a road.

Also all that area containing 634 acres 3 roods, more or less,
being Section 8 and portion of Sections 6, 7, 20, and 22 and
Crown land, Block IV, Waitakere Survey District, held under
Warden's grants Nos. 7135 and 7136, and bounded generally
