Notifying Lands in Nelson Land District for Sale by Public
Auction.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land
Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Monday,
the twenty-second day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty, as the time at which the lands described
in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash
or on deferred payments, and I do hereby fix the prices at
which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
NELSON LAND DISTRICT.--TOWN LAND.
Township of Takaka.
SECTION 15, Block X, Waitapu Survey District : Area,
12-6 perches. Upset price, £115.
Section 16, Block X, Waitapu Survey District : Area,
12-9 perches. Upset price, £115.
Sections are situated with a frontage to Commercial Road,
the main street of Takaka Township, and are suitable for
business-sites. Sections all have a frontage of 45-96 links to
the main street.

Opening Lands in North Auckland Land District for Selection
on Renewable Lease.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles,
Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby declare that the lands described in the
Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease
on Monday, the twentieth day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and thirty, at the rentals mentioned in the
said Schedule, and I do also declare that the said lands shall
be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.--SECOND-CLASS LAND.
NATIONAL-ENDOWMENT LAND.
Mangonui County.--Takahue Survey District.
SECTION 34, Block X : Area, 315 acres. Capital value, £185.
Half-yearly rent, £3 14s.
Weighted with £455, for improvements consisting of 50
chains of fencing (seven wires), 200 acres felled, burned, and
grassed. This sum may be paid in cash or by a cash deposit
of £50 ; balance being secured by instalment mortgage for
twenty years with interest 5 per cent. per annum to N.Z.
returned soldiers and 5% per cent. per annum to others.
Section is situated on the continuation of Thames Road and
Diggers Valley Road, and is approximately seven miles from
Kaihu Post-office, school, and saleyards, and twelve miles
from Kiataia Dairy Factory. There is approximately 200
acres in good pasture (beginning to deteriorate) and 115 acres
bush land felled and grassed. Section comprises undulating
to broken land 500 ft. to 1,100 ft. above sea-level. Clay soil
resting on rock formation. Section is watered by small
creeks.
NATIONAL-ENDOWMENT LAND.
Whangarei County.--Hukerenui Survey District.
Sections 14 and 16, Block III, and Section 9, Block IV:
Area, 803 acres 2 roods 26 perches. Capital value, £1,025.
Half-yearly rent, £20 10s.
The sections are situated seven miles from Whakapara
Railway-station by metalled cart-road, and about half a mile
from Puhipuhi School. Practically all hilly to broken country,
being worked-out kauri bush, with fair amount of stone and
white flint. Nearly all gum land and pipe-clay on clay
formation. Clumps of sheltered bush; well watered by
several good creeks. There is a kauri dwelling of two rooms,
scullery, and small room on Section 14, and also 150 chains
of fencing. Sections 16 and 19 have about 210 chains of
fencing erected thereon. The sections are suitable for grazing.
SETTLEMENT LAND.
Hobson County.--Waimata Settlement.
Section 14s : Area, 303 acres. Capital value, £1,355.
Half-yearly rent, £33 17s. 6d.
Weighted with £145, valuation for improvements consisting
of 35 chains new boundary-fencing, 50½ chains boundary-
fencing, and 7 acres cleared and grassed. This amount must
be paid in cash.
The land is situated eleven and a half miles from Darga-
ville Railway-station, four miles from Mamaranui School,
and twelve miles from Mangawhare Dairy Factory. There
are 40 acres of good pasture, 106 acres of rough feed, 27 acres
in old grass, and 130 acres in bush.

the report of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as
provided by section one hundred and seventy-six of
the said Act, do hereby declare that the lands described
in the Schedule hereto shall be open for sale or selection on
Monday, the twentieth day of October, one thousand nine
hundred and thirty; and also that the lands mentioned
in the said Schedule may, at the option of the applicant, be
purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected
on renewable lease; and I do hereby also fix the prices at
which the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased as those
mentioned in the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that
the said lands shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and
subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1924, and the
amendments thereof.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waitemata County.--Waitemata Survey District.
SECTIONS 5 and 6, Block XIV : Area, 27 acres 1 rood 24 perches.
Capital value, £440. Deposit on deferred payments, £20 ;
half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £13 13s. Renewable-
able lease : Half-yearly rent, £8 16s.
Improvements included in the capital value consist of
55 chains of fencing (in poor condition) and a small shed.
Section is situated five miles from Henderson Railway-
station by formed road (metalled for most part) and three
and a half miles from Swanson by formed road (metalled for
one and a quarter miles). Undulating land which has been
ploughed and grassed, but is now going back. Soil is clay
resting on sandstone formation. Poorly watered by spring.
SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Bay of Islands County.--Kawakawa Survey District.
Sections 3 and 11, Block VIII : Area, 519 acres 0 roods
24 perches. Capital value, £390. Deposit on deferred pay-
ments, £20 ; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments,
£12 0s. 6d. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £7 16s.
Weighted with £175, for improvements which consist of
71 chains road fencing, 59 chains boundary-fencing, two-
roomed whare. Deposit of £25 on improvements ; balance
to be secured on instalment mortgage repayable over a term
of fifteen years. Interest, 5 per cent. to New Zealand dis-
charged soldiers and 5¼ per cent. to all others.
Property situated on the Opua-Waimate Road, three miles
from Opua Railway-station, wharf, and school. Steep broken
