Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the
Purposes of a Road in Westland County, near Ruatapu.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land taken for the purposes of the
Greymouth–Hokitika–Ross Railway, and it is considered
desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road :
Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet,
Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursu-
ance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me
by section two hundred and twenty-six of the Public Works
Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise
enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the
publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road,
and that the said road shall be under the control of the
Westland County Council, and shall be maintained by the
said Council in like manner as other public highways are con-
trolled and maintained by the said Council.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land : 3 acres 3 roods 14
perches.
Portion of Railway Reserve (Road and Railway Reserve
No. 9), Blocks VII and XI, Mahinapua Survey District,
Westland County. (S.O. 2770.)
In the Westland Land District ; as the same is more par-
ticularly delineated on the plan marked L.O. 580, deposited
in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and
thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 25th day of
January, 1930.

Regulations under the Government Railways Act, 1926.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 21st day of January, 1930.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred by the Government Railways Act, 1926,
and its amendments (hereinafter referred to as “the Act”), His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby make the regulations set forth on the First and Second Schedules hereto, fixing scales of salaries
and wages, and the increments thereto for members, probationers, and apprentices in the Department, and
providing for the classification of such members, probationers, and apprentices ; and doth hereby declare
that, except as otherwise specifically provided, the said regulations shall be deemed to have come into
operation on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine ; and doth hereby further
declare that all scales of salaries and wages applicable to members, probationers, and apprentices in the
Department, and all provisions of the Act relating to the classification of such members, probationers, and
apprentices in force at the time of the coming into operation of these regulations shall be and be deemed
to have been superseded by such regulations.
