Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

Department of Defence,
Wellington, 6th June, 1930.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

COMANDS.

Lieutenant-Colonel L. H. Jardine, D.S.O., M.C., The Taranaki Regiment, relinquishes command of the 1st Battalion, and is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 8. Dated 1st June, 1930.

Major G. F. Bertrand, The Taranaki Regiment, is appointed to command the 1st Battalion. Dated 2nd June, 1930.

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.

Major J. Abel, 15th Coast Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 5. Dated 13th May, 1930.

Lieutenant F. E. Reeves is transferred from the 5th Field Battery to the 2nd Field Brigade, supernumerary to establishment, and remains seconded with the Artillery Section, St. Patrick’s College Cadets. Dated 27th May, 1930.

THE WELLINGTON WEST COAST REGIMENT.

Lieutenant A. J. Kingston, 1st C Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 13th April, 1930.

THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation), 1st C Battalion, are confirmed :—
E. R. McKeon.
L. V. Bryant.
W. I. Shrimpton.

The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants, 1st C Battalion, to be Lieutenants. Dated 19th May, 1930 :—

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Captain Frederick Pond (Reserve of Officers, Middlesex Regiment) to be Captain, and is posted to the 1st C Battalion. Dated 22nd February, 1930.

N.Z. AIR FORCE.

Robert Raymond Money to be Flying Officer. Dated 1st May, 1930.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

Captain J. G. Stewart, M.C., M.B., ceases to be attached to the N.Z. Air Force, and is attached to the Northern Depot, N.Z.M.C. Dated 30th May, 1930.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

The Waikato Mounted Rifles.

The undermentioned are posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain their rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 30th May, 1930.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Otorohanga County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

OTOROHANGA COUNTY COUNCIL.

Wharepuhanga Bridge Loan, £650.

PURSUANT to section 13 (1) of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Otorohanga, taken on the 23rd day of May, 1930, on the proposal of the Otorohanga County Council to borrow the sum of six hundred and fifty pounds for constructing a bridge and approaches over the Mangatutu Stream on the Wharepuhanga Main Highway, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 17; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Notice respecting Proposed Constitution of Reporoa Drainage District, Counties of Rotorua and Taupo.

Wellington, 18th June, 1930.

IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a drainage district, to be known as “the Reporoa Drainage District.” All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposed constitution of such district which they desire to lodge within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

PROPOSED REPOROA DRAINAGE DISTRICT, COUNTIES OF ROTORUA AND TAUPO.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, bounded by a line commencing at a point on the main Rotorua–Taupo Road at the south-western corner of Section 19s, Reporoa Settlement; thence in an easterly direction by a road forming the southern boundaries of Section 19s, and Paeroa East 4b 4a 3f 3 Block to and across the Waiotapu Stream; thence in a generally southerly direction by the left bank of the Waiotapu Stream to the south-western corner of Section 56s, Reporoa Settlement; thence by the southern boundary of Section 56s aforesaid, across a road, and again by the southern boundary of Sections 56s and 57s of the aforementioned settlement, across a road, and by the southern boundary of Section 59s, Reporoa Settlement, across a road, and by the southern boundaries of Sections 60s and 61s, Reporoa Settlement; thence in a generally northerly direction by the eastern boundaries of Sections 61s and 47s, the crossing of a road, and again by the eastern boundaries of Sections 47s, 42s, and 32s, the crossing of a road, and by the eastern
