Opening Land in Auckland Land District for Sale or Selection.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, this is to say:

The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at the price specified in the said Schedule, and shall be deemed to be “ light bush land.”

The said land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.

After the first half-year’s rent, or the deposit fixed under deferred payments, as the case may be, has been paid by the selector the further instalments of rent, or such part of the aforesaid instalments as consist of interest, payable by him for a period of three years shall not be demanded; provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land, the rent or interest so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent or interest payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—SECOND-CLASS LAND.
Kawhia County.—Kawhia South Survey District.
(Exempt from payment of rent or interest for three years.)
SECTION 7, Block XI : Area, 213 acres. Capital value, £110. Deposit on deferred payments, £10; half-yearly instalment on deferred payments, £3 5s. Renewable lease : Half-yearly rent, £2 4s. Loading for improvements, £65.
Weighted with £65, valuation for improvements comprising 45 acres (partially reverted), felling and grassing, and about 30 chains fencing ; repayable in cash or in five years by ten half-yearly instalments of £7 10s. 2d.
Situated twenty-three miles from Hangatiki Railway-station by metalled road. Undulating country, about 45 acres felled and grassed, now mostly reverted ; balance light to medium bush, comprising totara, rimu, white-pine, tawa, with fairly thick undergrowth of supplejack, punga, kiekie, &c. Light to medium soil of fair quality, on clay and limestone formation; well watered by permanent streams. Altitude, 500 ft. to 700 ft. above sea-level.

Opening Settlement Lands in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Selection.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
In pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-third day of June, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—SETTLEMENT LAND.—FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Wairoa County.—Taramarama Survey District.—Awamate Settlement.
Section 1s, Block XXI : Area, 89 acres 0 roods 19 perches. Capital value, £2,990. Half-yearly rent, £74 15s.
Section 2s, Block XXI : Area, 104 acres 2 roods 32 perches. Capital value, £3,570. Half-yearly rent, £89 5s. Loading for buildings, £200; half-yearly instalment on buildings, £7 16s.
Section 3s, Block XXI : Area, 107 acres 0 roods 30 perches. Capital value, £3,510. Half-yearly rent, £87 10s. Loading for buildings, £125; half-yearly instalment on buildings, £4 17s. 6d.
Section 4s, Block XXI : Area, 87 acres 0 roods 20 perches. capital value, £3,270. Half-yearly rent, £81 15s.
Section 5s, Block XXI : Area, 132 acres 1 rood 10 perches. Capital value, £4,620. Half-yearly rent, £115 10s. Loading for buildings, £650; half-yearly instalment on buildings, £22 15s.
Section 6s, Block XXI : Area, 149 acres 3 roods 22 perches. Capital value, £4,300. Half-yearly rent, £107 10s. Loading for buildings, £100; half-yearly instalment on buildings, £11 11s.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION.
Awamate Settlement, formerly the property of Mr. J. S. Jessep, is situated in Block XXI, Taramarama Survey District, Wairoa County, Hawke’s Bay. The Township of Wairoa is about six to seven miles distant. Access is by formed metalled road to the settlement boundary and then by unmetalled roads.
The land consists of river-terrace flats extending along the Wairoa River. The soil, generally, is of fairly good quality with pumiceous clay subsoil. Portions of Sections 4s and 5s include river-silt areas of good quality.
Water supply is provided by the Wairoa River or by deep lagoon in the centre of the settlement known as “ Awamate ” Lagoon.
Each section is practically ring-fenced with substantial fences.
The climate of the district is mild, with a good rainfall. The sections are suitable for dairy farming.
There is a dairy factory at Wairoa, a railway-siding on the new Napier-Wairoa Railway is to be constructed about one mile from the settlement, and school and post-office are situated at Turiroa, two miles and a half distant.

Notifying Lands in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction for Cash or on Deferred Payments.
BLEDISLOE, Governor-General.
In pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and thirty-two of the Land Act, 1924, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the twenty-fifth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, as the time at which the lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction for cash or on deferred payments; and I hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedules hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.

FIRST-CLASS LAND.
Waipa County.—Pukete Parish.
For Sale for Cash.
Section 274 : Area, 3 roods 39 perches. Upset price, £10. Section is situated at Whatawhata, alongside the Waipa River, approximately 12 chains distant from the Whatawhata—Te Kowhai Road. Access by river-bank road, unformed.
The section comprises good alluvial land, on a low terrace fronting the river, and is subject to occasional flooding.
Taupo County.—Taupo Township.
Section 9, Block XXVIII : Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £25.
Section 10, Block XXVIII : Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £25.
Section 11, Block XXVIII : Area, 1 rood. Upset price, £25.
These sections have a frontage to Nukuhau Street.
Taupo Township is situated on the banks of the Waikato River, and on the northern shore of Lake Taupo, distant 227 miles from Auckland (by rail to Rotorua, thence by car) and 103 miles (by car) from Napier. Sulphur springs, geysers, various mineral baths, Huka Falls, Aratiatia Rapids, &c., are among the attractions for the tourist. Trout-fishing in the lake provides splendid sport.

Section 171 : Area, 131 acres 3 roods 38 perches. Upset price, £35.
