IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a road ; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the nineteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the estates of leasehold in the land described in the Schedule hereto held by James Pagan from His Majesty the King for terms of twenty-one years from the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-five, such leases being registered in the Land and Deeds Registry Office at Nelson, in Register-book, Vol. 51, folios 258 and 259, are hereby taken for afforestation purposes ; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the fifteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and thirty.

Appointing a Commissioner for New Zealand in Canada and the United States of America.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this 26th day of April, 1930.

Present :

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section thirty-one of the Finance Act, 1924, it is enacted that the Governor-General in Council may from time to time appoint a person to be Commissioner for New Zealand in Canada and the United States of America, who shall hold office during the pleasure of the Governor-General, and it is expedient that an appointment be made in terms of the said enactment :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the said enactment, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

John William Collins, Esquire,

to be Commissioner for New Zealand in Canada and the United States of America under the said enactment, to have, hold, exercise, and enjoy the said office for and during pleasure of the Governor-General.

Declaring Land in North Auckland Land District to be subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1925.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and five of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the areas of Crown land described in the Schedule hereto shall be subject to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1925, and shall hereafter form part of the Tautari Settlement.
