river to a point due west of Trig. Station S, Block IX, Upper
Ashley Survey District; thence easterly by a right line to
the said trig. station; thence generally north-easterly and
north-westerly along the summit of the Puketeraki Range,
the water-shed between the Waimakariri and Ashley Rivers,
and the water-shed between the Waimakariri and Hurunui
Rivers to the summit of the Southern Alps; thence generally
south-westerly along the summit of the Southern Alps to the
westernmost corner of Block I, Davie Survey District; thence
generally southerly and south-westerly along the summit of
the Southern Alps to Whitcombe Pass; thence generally
southerly, south-westerly, and south-easterly along the Louper
Stream to the middle of the Rakaia River; thence generally
easterly and south-easterly along the middle of the Rakaia
River to its intersection with the Great South Road; thence
north-easterly along the centre of the Great South Road to
its intersection with the Dunedin-Christchurch Railway line
in Block XI of the Selwyn Survey District; thence north-
easterly along the said railway-line to the centre of the road
forming the south-western boundary of Rural Section 9281
and Reserve 2287; thence north-westerly along the centre of
that road to the centre of the Great South Road aforesaid;
thence north-easterly along the centre of the Great South
Road to its intersection with the centre of Wright's Road;
thence north-westerly along the centre of that road to the
centre of Two-chain Road at the northern corner of Rural
Section 29306; thence north-easterly along the centre of
Two-chain Road to the centre of the Dunsandel Road; thence
north-westerly along the centre of Dunsandel Road to a point
in line with the centre of Sheat's Road; thence north-easterly
along the centre of Sheat's Road and on to the middle of
the Hororata River; thence westerly and north-westerly
along the middle of the Hororata River to a point in con-
tinuation of the north-western boundary of Rural Section
4249, Block II, Selwyn Survey District; thence north-
easterly to and along the said north-western boundary of
Rural Section 4249 to the northern boundary-line of the
Selwyn Survey District; thence easterly along that boundary-
line to the centre of the Selwyn or Wakaepa River; thence
south-easterly along the middle of that river to the inter-
section of the Great South Road with the middle of the Selwyn
River; thence north-easterly along the centre of the said
Great South Road to the commencing-point. As the said
area is more particularly delineated on the plan marked
P.W.D. 77921, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public
Works at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow.

THIRD SCHEDULE.
SPRINGS-ELLESMERE ELECTRIC-POWER DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District the boundaries
whereof are as follows: Commencing at a point on Rural
Section 17621, Block VI, Christchurch Survey District, the
same being the north-western corner of Waimairi County;
thence south-westerly and south-easterly along the western
boundary of the Waimairi County to the easternmost corner
of Section 211, Block XIV, Christchurch Survey District;
thence in a general direction south-westerly along the centre
of the Middle Lincoln Road to the northernmost corner of
Rural Section 327, Block XIV; thence by that section and
Sections Nos. 2176, 550, to the Halswell Junction Road;
thence along the middle of that road to a point opposite the
northernmost corner of Section 952, Block XIV aforesaid;
thence to and by that section to the Halswell River; thence
along the middle of that river to a point in line with the
middle of Ellesmere Junction Road; thence in a general
direction south-westerly, southerly, and south-easterly to the
Lake Ellesmere at a point in a line with the most south-
westerly corner of Section 7, Block VI, of Reserve 959, Block
XIV, Ellesmere Survey District ; thence in a south-westerly
direction to the most westerly corner of Section 22 of Reserve
878, Block VII, Southbridge Survey District; thence south-
westerly by the Pacific Ocean to the middle of the Rakaia
River; thence north-westerly along the middle of the said
river to its intersection with the centre of the Great South
Road; thence north-easterly along the centre of the Great
South Road to its intersection with the Dunedin-Christchurch
Railway line in Block XI, Selwyn Survey District; thence
north-easterly along the said railway-line to the centre of the
road forming the south-western boundary of Rural Section
9281 and Reserve 2287; thence north-westerly along the
centre of that road to the centre of the Great South Road
aforesaid; thence north-easterly along the centre of the Great
South Road to its intersection with the centre of Wright's
Road; thence north-westerly along the centre of that road
to the centre of Two-chain Road at the northern corner of
Rural Section 29306; thence north-easterly along the centre
of Two-chain Road to the centre of Dunsandel Road; thence
north-westerly along the centre of Dunsandel Road to a point
in line with the centre of Sheat's Road; thence north-
easterly along the centre of Sheat's Road and on to the
middle of the Hororata River; thence westerly and north-
westerly generally along the middle of the Hororata River to
a point in continuation of the north-western boundary of
Rural Section 4249, Block II, Selwyn Survey District; thence
north-easterly to and along the said north-western boundary
of Rural Section 4249 to the northern boundary-line of the
Selwyn Survey District; thence easterly along that boundary-
line to the centre of the Selwyn or Wakaepa River; thence
south-easterly along the middle of that river to the inter-
section of the Great South Road with the middle of the
Selwyn River; thence north-easterly along the centre of the
said Great South Road to a point, being the intersection of
the centre of Hawkins and Burnham Roads with the centre of
Sandy Knolls Road, near the easternmost corner of Rural
Section 27724; thence north-easterly and northerly along
the centre of Sandy Knolls Road to the centre of Halkett
Road near the north-eastern corner of Rural Section 6281,
Block X, Rolleston Survey District; thence north-westerly
along the centre of Halkett Road to its intersection with
the centre of the road forming the south-eastern boundary
of Rural Section 8752; thence north-easterly along the
centre of that road and the road forming the south-
eastern boundary of Rural Sections 9917, 12536, to a point
in line with the north-eastern boundary of the last-
mentioned section; thence north-westerly to and along the
said north-eastern boundary of Rural Section 12536 to the
south-western corner of Reserve 1053; thence north-easterly
along the north-western boundary of that reserve and its
production to the middle of the Waimakariri River; thence
generally in an easterly direction along the middle of the said
river to the commencing-point, the same being the north-
westerly corner of the Waimairi County, Rural Section 17621,
Block VI, Christchurch Survey District. As the said area
is more particularly delineated on plan marked P.W.D. 77921,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, and thereon coloured red and blue.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued
under the Seal of that Dominion, this 14th day of April,

Altering the Boundaries of the North Canterbury Electric-power
District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon
me by section three of the Electric-power Boards Act,
1925, and of every other power in anywise enabling me in
that behalf, I, Charles, Baron Bledisloe, Governor-General
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby alter the
boundaries of the North Canterbury Electric-power District
so as to include the areas described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, in the Oxford
and Eyre Counties, bounded by a line commencing at a point
on the southern bank of the Ashley River where the north-
western boundary of Rural Section 32764 extended north-
easterly would strike the river ; thence southerly, westerly,
and easterly, and again southerly along the western and
southern boundary of the existing North Canterbury Electric-
power District to a point in the Eyre County on the southern
side of the intersection of Middle Island Road and Storer's
Road; and thence in a straight line in a north-westerly
direction to the intersection of Fairweather Road and the
present northern bank of the Waimakariri River; thence
