Redefining Boundaries of the Borough of Hastings, the County of Hawke's Bay, and the Heretaunga Riding of the County of Hawke's Bay.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Borough of Hastings are hereby defined as set out in the First Schedule hereto, the boundaries of the said borough having been altered by Proclamation dated the 10th day of January, 1930, made under the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1928, and published in Gazette, No. 2, of the 16th day of January, 1930.
And also, in pursuance of the provisions of the said section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the County of Hawke's Bay affected by the said Proclamation dated the 10th day of January, 1930, are hereby defined as set out in the Second Schedule hereto.
And in further pursuance of the provisions of the said section 141 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, the boundaries of the Heretaunga Riding of the County of Hawke's Bay affected by the said Proclamation dated the 10th day of January, 1930, are hereby defined as set out in the Third Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF HASTINGS.

ALL that area in the Hawke's Bay Land District bounded towards the north-west by the south-eastern side of Marae-kakaho Road, from its junction with the south-western side of Wall Road, to Heretaunga Street; thence by a right line across the said Heretaunga Street to the south-eastern side of Pakowhai Road at its junction with the said Heretaunga Street; thence by the south-eastern side of Pakowhai Road to a point approximately 155 links distant from its junction with Williams Street; thence towards the north-east by a line bearing 140° 25', passing through Allotment No. 227 on plan No. 1757, Allotments Nos. 2, 1, and 3 on plan No. 3163, Allotments Nos. 3, 4, 5, on plan No. 1970, Allotment No. 1 on plan No. 3213, and Allotment No. 1 on plan No. 3214, all deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, to a point in the middle of Williams Street, 50·1 links distant from the north-western boundary produced of Allotment No. 52 on plan No. 1977, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, being also the westernmost corner of Allotment No. 1, Sub. D, Heretaunga Block ; thence along the middle of Williams Street, to and by the north-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 9 (drain reserve) on plan No. 4807, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, to and across the Wellington-Napier Railway, to and by the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 26–34 on plan No. 1960, Allotments Nos. 1–9 on plan No. 4788, Allotment No. 24 on plan No. 979, all deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, to Karamu Road; thence across that road to its south-eastern side; thence towards the north-west by the south-eastern side of the said Karamu Road to the north-eastern side of Collinge Road; thence again towards the north-east by the north-eastern side of Collinge Road to the westernmost corner of Allotment No. 1 on plan No. 2986, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; thence towards the south-east by a line produced 50 links from the western boundary of the said Allotment No. 1 to the middle of Collinge Road; thence again towards the north-east along the said Collinge Road on bearing, 146° 2' 22" to the northern-most corner of Allotment No. 9 of the Lomas Workers’ Dwellings Settlement on Crown plan No. 1261, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Napier; thence by the north-eastern boundary of the said Allotment No. 9, across Jellicoe Street by the north-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 45, across Delhi Street by the north-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 46, 47, 48, 49, all of the said Lomas Workers’ Dwellings Settlement, to the easternmost corner of the said Allotment No. 49; thence towards the south-east by the south-eastern boundaries of the said Allotment No. 49, the abutment of Hood Street, the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 44, 40 of the Lomas Workers’ Dwellings Settlement, the abutment of Beatty Street, the south-eastern boundaries of Allotment No. 21a on plan No. 3250, Allotment No. 159 on plan No. 362, both deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; the abutment of Grove Road, the south-eastern boundaries of Allotment No. 158 on said plan No. 362, Allotment No. 1 on plan No. 965, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, to Ada Street; thence by a right line across Ada Street, to the easternmost corner of Allotment No. 82 on plan No. 964, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier; thence by the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 82, 81, 80 on said deposited plan No. 964 to a drain reserve; thence

towards the south-west by the north-western side of the said drain reserve to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 63 on the said plan No. 964 ; thence towards the south-east across the said drain reserve and by the south-eastern boundary of the said Allotment No. 63 to and across Louie Street, through part of Allotment No. 1 on plan No. 1938, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, by the abutment of a closed road as shown on statutory plan No. 771, deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Napier, and by the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 39–17 on plan No. 362, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Napier, to the Here-tauga Street; thence across that street to the south-eastern side of Norten Road; thence by the south-eastern side of the said Norten Road to a point in line with the south-western side of Copeland Road; thence towards the south-west by a right line across Norten Road and by the south-western side of Copeland Road to and across Park Road to its junction with Riverslea Road; thence towards the south-east by the south-eastern side of Riverslea Road to a point in line with the south-western side of Murdoch Road; thence again towards the south-west by a right line across Riverslea Road and by the south-western side of Murdoch Road, to and across the Wellington-Napier Railway, to and across Southland Road to the north-western side of the said Southland Road ; thence towards the north-west by the north-western side of that road to its junction with Wall Road; thence again towards the south-west by the south-western side of Wall Road to its junction with Maraekakaho Road, the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

BOUNDARIES OF THE COUNTY OF HAWKE'S BAY.

ALL that area in the Hawke’s Bay Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point in the middle of the Ngaru-roto River at the intersection with a right line between Trig. Station 26 (Tawheketewhango) and 65A; thence proceeding in an easterly direction along the said right line to Trig. Station 65A; thence along a right line to Trig. Station 68A and its production to the middle of the Mohaka River ; thence down the middle of that river to a point in line with the north-eastern boundary of Small-grazing Run 107; thence to and along that boundary to Trig. Station B (Patuawahine), along the north-eastern boundary of Section 3, Block XI, Waitara Survey District; thence to and down the middle of the Waikare River to the sea; thence southerly along the sea-coast to the north-eastern corner of Te Apiti No. 2a 3 Block; thence along the northern boundary of that block, the eastern boundaries of Sections 6, 5, and 4, Block III, Oero Survey District, and along the northern boundary of the said Section 4 to the middle of the Hawea Stream; thence down the middle of that stream, and up the middle of the Tukituki River, and up the middle of the Papanui Stream to the middle of the Te Aute – Patangata Road; thence along the middle of that road and of the Te Aute Road to a point in line with the northern boundary of the college land; thence to and along that boundary, the north-eastern boundary of Section 1, Block XV, and the northern boundary of Section 1, Block XIV, Maraekakaho Survey District, to its northernmost corner; thence by a right line to a point in the middle of the Manga-o-nuku River in line with the north-western boundary of Small-grazing Run No. 1, Block X, Maraekakaho Survey District; thence up the middle of the said Manga-o-nuku River to its source; thence along the northern and north-western boundaries of Block III, and the north-western boundary of Block I, Block V, and again of Block I, to the middle of the Mangamauku River, and up that river to its source; thence by a right line to the junction of the north branch of the Waipawa River and the Makarora River (north of Section 8, Block IX, Whakarara Survey District); thence along a right line in the direction of Trig. Station 30, Aorangi, to the summit of the Ruahine Range; thence northerly along the summit of the said range to Trig. Station Y, Block XII, Pukeokahu Survey District; thence along a right line to a point in the middle of the Taruarau River opposite the westernmost corner of Block 78, Maraekakaho Survey District; thence down the middle of that river and up the middle of the Ngaruroro River to the place of commencement, excluding the Boroughs of Napier and Hastings, and the Town Districts of Havelock North and Taradale.
