HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces:—
THE N.Z. ARMY PAY CORPS.
Lieutenant H. G. Wilson, M.M., to be Captain. Dated 14th February, 1930.
THE WAIKATO MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant-Colonel A. M. Samuel, from the Reserve of Officers, to be Lieutenant-Colonel, supernumerary to establishment. Dated 15th March, 1930.
THE MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES.
Lieutenant C. E. Lees to be Captain. Dated 22nd February, 1930.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants to be Lieutenants. Dated 14th September, 1929:—

THE REGIMENT OF N.Z. ARTILLERY.
Lieutenant C. F. Crosbie, 10th Field Battery, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 10. Dated 25th March, 1930.
The undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants, 7th Field Battery, to be Lieutenants. Dated 26th April, 1929:—

William Harvey Thomson to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is attached to the 1st Field Brigade, Takapuna Grammar School, Artillery Section. Dated 26th March, 1930.
THE N.Z. INFANTRY.
The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).
2nd Lieutenant W. E. B. Dunningham, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the North Auckland Regiment. Dated 25th March, 1930.
THE NORTH AUCKLAND REGIMENT.
2nd Lieutenant W. E. B. Dunningham, from the Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own), to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 14th September, 1928, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 25th March, 1930.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) W. J. Higgins, 1st Battalion, is confirmed.
The Hauraki Regiment.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) R. G. Webb, 2nd C Battalion, is confirmed.
The Wellington West Coast Regiment.
Major G. E. Pollock, from the Southland Regiment, to be Major, with seniority as from the 23rd August, 1928, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 28th March, 1930.
Lieutenant R. Hynes, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Otago Regiment. Dated 21st March, 1930.
Lieutenant O. Warnock, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Reserve of Officers, Class I (b), R.D. 6. Dated 25th March, 1930.
The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant J. Dugdale, 1st C Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 27th March, 1930.
The Canterbury Regiment.
2nd Lieutenant J. Dugdale, from the Hawke’s Bay Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 9th May, 1927, and is posted to the 3rd C Battalion. Dated 27th March, 1930.
The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.
Lieutenant C. H. Bleach, 2nd C Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 1st March, 1930.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) R. G. G. Dalglish, 1st C Battalion, is confirmed.
The Otago Regiment.
Lieutenant D. A. Solomon, 2nd C Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 17th September, 1929.
Lieutenant R. Hynes, from the Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 16th May, 1929, and is posted to the 1st C Battalion. Dated 21st March, 1930.
The Southland Regiment.
Major G. E. Pollock, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Wellington West Coast Regiment. Dated 28th March, 1930.
The appointments of the undermentioned 2nd Lieutenants (on probation) are confirmed:—
W. L. Jolly, 2nd C Battalion.
J. C. Braithwaite, 1st C Battalion.
J. Allport, 2nd C Battalion.
A. G. Harrington, 1st C Battalion.
Richard George Webb, to be 2nd Lieutenant (on probation), and is posted to the 1st C Battalion. Dated 18th March, 1930.
N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.
Lieutenant F. P. Furkert, M.B., is attached for duty to the Central Depot, N.Z.M.C. Dated 27th March, 1930.
THE N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.
The Reverend Leonard Kilby Collins to be Chaplain, 4th Class (C. of E.), R.D. 9. Dated 25th March, 1930.
The Reverend C. Strand, Chaplain, 4th Class, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 25th March, 1930.
The Reverend R. B. Gosnell, Chaplain, 4th Class, is transferred to the Reserve List, Class II, R.D. 8. Dated 25th March, 1930.
RESERVE OF OFFICERS.
Waikato Regiment.
The undermentioned are posted to the Retired List with permission to retain their rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 21st March, 1930:—

Major J. Fitzgerald, M.B., F.R.C.S., Edin., is posted to the Retired List, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 29th March, 1930.

Notification of Vacancy of Seat in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Parnell.
IN compliance with the provisions of section 103 of the Electoral Act, 1927, I hereby notify that the seat of Harry Reginald Jenkins in the House of Representatives for the Electoral District of Parnell did, under the provisions of paragraph (g) of section 23 of the said Act, become vacant on the 27th day of March, 1930, by reason of his resignation thereof.
