The conditions of carriage specified in Parts III, V, and VII of tariff will apply to goods of Classes E, F, H, K, N, P, Q, R, and artificial manures conveyed at the above rates between Christchurch and Kaikoura.

The charges on small lots of goods of Classes A, B, C, D, and E will be as follows:—

Consignments in excess of 84 lb. will be charged pro rata with a minimum charge of 4s.

Small lots of timber will be charged under the provisions of paragraphs 2 and 3, Regulation VII, Part III, between Christchurch and Parnassus, plus 4s. per 100 superficial feet between Parnassus and Kaikoura.

Empty returns between Christchurch and Parnassus will be carried under the provisions of Regulation 23, Part III. Between Parnassus and Kaikoura (with the exception of empty return fish-cases and pigeon-crates, which are carried free) the rate is 6d. per hundredweight.

To those persons or bodies of persons, whether incorporated or not, who shall undertake to place with or cause to be placed with the Minister of Railways the whole of their goods requiring conveyance between places in New Zealand where in the opinion of the Minister it is reasonably practicable for such persons or bodies of persons to have their goods conveyed by railway, the benefit of the classified rates, or, where applicable, the local rates as now or from time to time gazetted shall be extended and be payable in all cases where such through local rates shall be cheaper than the through local uniform rate.
