Appointments, Promotions, Resignations, and Transfers of Officers of the N.Z. Military Forces.

H IS Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the N.Z. Military Forces:—

STAFF.

Captain S. F. Allen, N.Z. Staff Corps, having returned from England on 13th January, 1930, ceases to be seconded, and is attached to the General Staff at General Headquarters for signal duties. Dated 4th February, 1930.

Lieutenant H. G. Wooller, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of Assistant Area Officer, Area 5A, Wellington, and is appointed Assistant Area Officer, Area 10A, Christchurch. Dated 7th February, 1930.

THE WAIKATO MOUNTED RIFLES.

The undermentioned Captains to be Majors. Dated 10th February, 1930:—

Robert Ronald Atkinson to be 2nd Lieutenant. Dated 10th February, 1930.

THE OTAGO MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant F. J. Brook to be Captain. Dated 12th September, 1929.

THE NELSON-MARLBOROUGH MOUNTED RIFLES.

Captain F. C. Hammond to be Major. Dated 19th February, 1930.

THE WELLINGTON REGIMENT.

Lieutenant W. C. O. Wade, 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 14th February, 1930.

THE TARANAKI REGIMENT.

Lieutenant P. W. Wright, 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 12th September, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant J. C. Findlater, 2nd C Battalion, to be Lieutenant. Dated 10th October, 1929.

THE CANTERBURY REGIMENT.

Lieutenant F. W. Morgan, 6th C Battalion, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 17th February, 1930.

THE NELSON, MARLBOROUGH, AND WEST COAST REGIMENT.

Lieutenant H. H. Thomason, M.M., 1st Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 4th February, 1930.

Charles Robert Duke to be Lieutenant, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 17th February, 1930.

2nd Lieutenant (on probation) W. A. Sheat, 3rd C Battalion, resigns his commission. Dated 14th February, 1930.

THE OTAGO REGIMENT.

The undermentioned Lieutenants to be Captains:—

P. S. de Q. Cabot, 1st C Battalion. Dated 17th September, 1929.

J. F. Hewitt, 1st Battalion. Dated 11th February, 1930.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

Frederick Plimmer Furkert, M.B., Ch.B., to be Lieutenant. Dated 20th February, 1930.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The undermentioned Chaplains, 4th Class, to be Chaplains, 3rd Class:—

The Reverend F. L. Frost. Dated 23rd October, 1929.

The Reverend W. Bullock. Dated 21st August, 1929.

The Reverend B. J. James, Chaplain, 4th Class, Reserve List, Class II, is transferred from R.D. 10 to R.D. 5. Dated 14th February, 1930.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

Captain V. H. Baker is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 17th February, 1930.

THE AUCKLAND MOUNTED RIFLES.

Lieutenant L. J. Armstrong, D.C.M., is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 20th February, 1930.

THE NELSON-MARLBOROUGH MOUNTED RIFLES.

2nd Lieutenant O. C. Freeth is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 14th February, 1930.

THE WAIKATO REGIMENT.

Lieutenant F. D. Holt is retired. Dated 21st February, 1930.

H IS Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal to Lieutenant K. Inwood, The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.

Dismissal from the Forces.

H IS Excellency the Administrator of the Government has approved of the dismissal of the undermentioned soldier of the Territorial Force from the New Zealand Defence Forces, under section 6 (b), Defence Act, 1909, he having been convicted by the Civil power:—

H IS Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to approve of the award of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration to Lieutenant-Colonel J. Stafford, D.S.O., M.R.C.V.S., N.Z. Veterinary Corps.

Ending of Period of Summer Time.

Prime Minister’s Office,
Wellington, 4th March, 1930.

I T is hereby notified for general information that under the Summer Time Act, 1929, summer time, which commenced at 2 o’clock in the morning of Sunday, the 13th October, 1929, ends at 2 o’clock, New Zealand standard time, in the morning of Sunday, the 16th day of March, 1930.

The time will therefore be put back thirty minutes as from 2 o’clock a.m., New Zealand standard time, on Sunday, the 16th day of March, 1930.
