License authorizing Harry Williams of Waipiro Bay, General Storekeeper, to erect Electric Lines in Portion of the Waiau County, known as the Waipiro Township.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this 5th day of December, 1929.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Works Act, 1928, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in that behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize Harry Williams, of Waipiro Bay, General Storekeeper, to lay, construct, put up, place, and use the electric lines described in the Schedule hereto on the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.
- PURPOSES OF LINES.
THE said lines may be used for lighting, power, and heating purposes.
- LICENSES TO BE SUBJECT TO REGULATIONS.
The license hereby conferred is subject to compliance by the licensee with the regulations made under section 2 of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, on the 11th day of July, 1927, and published in the Gazette on the 12th day of the same month at page 2360 (hereinafter called “the said regulations”), and with all regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor.
- SYSTEM OF SUPPLY.
The system of supply shall be the system described in paragraph (c) of clause 5 of the said regulations.
- GENERATING VOLTAGE.
Electrical energy shall be generated at a pressure of 32 volts between terminals.
- DURATION OF LICENSE.
This license shall, unless sooner determined, whether by surrender by the licensee or by revocation under the provisions contained in the said regulations or in any amending or substituted regulations, continue in force for a period of twenty-one years from the date hereof.
- PURCHASE OF INSTALLATION BY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD OR CROWN.
Any Electric-power Board duly constituted in terms of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, or any Act passed in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, if its district includes the area in which are erected the lines described in the Schedule hereto, or the Crown shall have the right, at any time during the currency of this license, to purchase and take over the licensee’s installation at a valuation to be agreed upon between the said Board or the Crown, as the case may be, and the licensee; and, failing such agreement, at a valuation to be fixed by a single arbitrator to be appointed pursuant to the provisions of the Arbitration Act, 1908, and thereupon the Governor-General may by Order in Council revoke this license.
- EFFECT OF DETERMINATION OF LICENSE.
The determination of this license, whether by expiration of time, by surrender, or by revocation as aforesaid, shall not relieve the licensee from any liability theretofore incurred under this license.
- RAILWAY AND TELEGRAPH LINES.
The licensee shall, from time to time, rectify to the satisfaction of the Minister of Railways and Minister of Telegraphs respectively any interference or disturbance caused by the erection or operation of the licensee’s system that affects the satisfactory working of any telegraph-line which is under the control of or in use by the Railway Department and the Post and Telegraph Department respectively, and which was erected before the erection of the lines hereby licensed.
- REQUIREMENTS OF WAIAU COUNTY COUNCIL.
Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained, the licensee shall not, by virtue of these presents, be entitled to lay, construct, put up, place, or use the electric lines hereby authorized except subject to such conditions, not inconsistent with the provisions of this license or of the said regulations or any regulations hereafter made in amendment thereof or in substitution therefor, as may from time to time lawfully be imposed by the Waiau County Council.
- ROUTES RESERVED FOR GOVERNMENT LINES.
Notwithstanding anything hereinbefore contained the licensee shall not, without the consent in writing of the Minister of Public Works, erect any electric lines along the routes of the Government main trunk transmission-lines.
SCHEDULE.
LINES adapted for supply as prescribed in these presents for the transmission of electricity, from point to point along the route indicated by a red line on the plan marked P.W.D. 76668, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.

Special Provision with respect to Deer in Portion of Westland Acclimatization District.

IN pursuance of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby amend the Warrant under the said Act (hereinafter referred to as “the said Warrant”) dated the eighth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-three, and gazetted on the fifteenth day of the same month, declaring deer to cease to be imported game in portions of various acclimatization districts, by deleting from the said Warrant all that area in the Westland Acclimatization District, described in the Schedule thereto (hereinafter referred to as “the said area”):
And I do hereby further declare that deer shall be deemed to be included in the Second Schedule of the said Act with respect to the said area:
And I do hereby further declare that this Warrant shall come into force on the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, and shall expire on the thirtieth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, and that from and after the last-mentioned date deer shall cease to be included in the Second Schedule of the said Act with respect to the said area.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this 5th day of December, 1929.

Opening Land in Wellington Land District for Sale or Selection.
CHARLES FERGUSSON, Governor-General.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1924, and the amendments thereof, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare and provide as follows, this is to say:—

The rural land enumerated in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for disposal by way of sale or selection on Monday, the twenty-seventh day of January, one thousand nine hundred and thirty, at the price specified in the said Schedule, and for the purposes of section one hundred and thirty-three of the Land Act, 1924, shall be deemed to be “heavy-bush land.”

The said land may be purchased for cash or on deferred payments, or be selected on renewable lease.

No general rate shall be levied or collected by any local authority from the said land for a period of three years from the date from which such land is disposed of, and no local authority shall have power to levy or collect any such rate from such land during such period.

After the first half-year’s rent (or the deposit on deferred payments, as the case may be) has been paid by the selector, the further instalments of rent (or such part of the instalments on deferred payments as consists of interest), payable by him for a period of three years shall not be demanded: Provided that if at any time during the first five years of his occupancy the selector disposes of his interest in the land, the rent or interest so conceded shall be paid by him in full, and thereupon the Land Board may remit such instalments of rent or interest payable by the incoming tenant, not exceeding in the aggregate the amount previously conceded to the selector, as the Board shall think fit.
