Defence Rifle Club disbanded.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has approved of the disbandment of the undermentioned Defence Rifle Club, under section 43, Defence Act, 1909:—

Recognizing Aviation Authorities for the Purpose of the Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation Encouragement) Act, 1929.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by section 3 of the Local Authorities Empowering (Aviation Encouragement) Act, 1929, I, Thomas Mason Wilford, Minister of Defence for the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby recognize for the purposes of that Act the undermentioned aviation authorities:—

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Palmerston North Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PALMERSTON NORTH BOROUGH COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Borough of Palmerston North taken on the 30th day of October, 1929, on the proposal of the Palmerston North Borough Council to borrow the sum of £14,000 for the purpose of improving the water-supply of the borough by providing an artesian water-supply, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,024; and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 463.
I therefore declare that the proposal was duly carried.

Notice as to Areas in Wellington Land District declared to be a Fire District.
State Forest Service,
Wellington, 21st November, 1929.
PURSUANT to section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921–22, and section 6 of the Forests Amendment Act, 1925, I do hereby notify that, on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the district, the areas described in the Schedule hereto are hereby declared by me to be fire districts, and I do further specify the period from the 1st day of November in any year to the 31st day of March in the following year, inclusive, as the period during which it shall not be lawful for any person within the said districts, save pursuant to the written permit of a Forest Officer, to set on fire, or cause to be set on fire, any timber (whether standing or not), or any undergrowth, or any debris from forest operations, or any land-clearing operations, or grass or other specially inflammable material, without taking such precautions as may be prescribed by a Forest Officer.

HUTT FIRE DISTRICT.—WELLINGTON LAND DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District containing approximately 155,000 acres, situated in the Akatarawa, Eritonga, Paekakariki, Belmont, Rimutaka, Waiohine, Wairarapa, Pencarrow, and Onoke Survey Districts, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north, east, and again towards the north by State Forest No. 31 (Gazettes, 1881, page 959, and 1920, page 104); again towards the east by Sections 541, 542, and 523, Block VIII, Waiohine Survey District, and Section 497, Block III, Wairarapa Survey District; towards the south by southern side of the main Rimutaka Road; towards the south-east by Sections 463 and 350, Block II, and 351, Block I, Wairarapa Survey District, and by State Forests No. 32 and 35 (Gazettes, 1898, page 1540, 1095, page 2184, 1881, page 959, 1916, page 2619, and 1900, page 104); towards the south-west by Orongorongo A No. 1 and Parangarahu No. 9; towards the north-west by Wainui-o-mata Valley Road, Moore Valley Road, Whiteman’s Valley Road, and Maungaroa Road; towards the west by Section 298, Block XIV, Akatarawa Survey District, and Maungaroa River; again towards the north-west by the north-western side of main Rimutaka Road and Sections 181 and 182, Block XV, Akatarawa Survey District; again towards the west, south-west, and south-east by Section 182 aforesaid; again towards the south-east by Section 114, Block XV aforesaid; again towards the south-west by Section 1, Block XIV aforesaid; again towards the north-west by Sections 361 and 364, Block X, Akatarawa Survey District; again towards the south-west by Section 364 aforesaid and Akatarawa River West; again towards the east by Section 7, Block X, Akatarawa Survey District and the western side of Snow Hill Road; again towards the south and south-west by the northern side of Goat Hill Road; again towards the south-west by the north-eastern side of Bulls Run Road; again towards the west by the western boundary of Section 30, Block X, Paekakariki Survey District; again towards the west and south-west by the Wainui Stream and a stream intersecting the northern and southern boundaries of Section 3, Block VII, Paekakariki Survey District; again towards the south by Sections 3 and 2, Block VII aforesaid; again towards the west by Sections 64 and 66, Block VII aforesaid, and by Section 102, Block IV, Paekakariki Survey District; again towards the north by Sections 100, 99, 98, and 97, Block IV aforesaid; again towards the north-west by Sections 97 and 96, Block IV aforesaid, Maungakatukutuku Stream, and Sections 16, 12, and 11, Block I, Akatarawa Survey District; and again towards the north by Ngarara West C Nos. 6, 16, 19, 21, and 22, and Sections 7 and 11, Block III, Akatarawa Survey District: as the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 89/10, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Notice respecting Proposed Alteration of Boundaries, Mangahoe Drainage District, County of Waipa.

Wellington, 21st November, 1929.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and amendments, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be included in the Mangahoe Drainage District.
All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the proposal which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
AREA PROPOSED TO BE INCLUDED IN MANGAHOE DRAINAGE DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line commencing at the intersection of the left bank of the Mangapiko Stream with the western side of the Te Awamutu–Hamilton Road; thence southerly and south-easterly along the western side of that road to Hairini Road; thence easterly along the southern side of Hairini Road to the north-eastern corner of Section 130, Puniu Parish; thence along the north-eastern boundary of said Section 130 to its easternmost corner; thence south-westerly along the south-eastern boundary of that section and Section 131, Puniu Parish, to the middle of the Mangahoe Stream; thence down the middle of the Mangahoe Stream to a point in line with the left bank of the Mangapiko Stream; thence to and along the said left bank to the western side of the Te Awamutu–Hamilton Road, the point of commencement.
