THE N.Z. INFANTRY.

The Auckland Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).

The seniority of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) C. N. Nicholls, 2nd Battalion, is antedated to 15th November, 1924.

The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) A. N. Rush, 1st Battalion, lapses. Dated 19th December, 1928.

The Hauraki Regiment.

Lieutenant W. H. Evans, 2nd C Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 4th January, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant A. Bowie, 1st Battalion, is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 31st January, 1929.

The Waikato Regiment.

Lieutenant C. M. Williamson, 1st Battalion, is transferred to the Hawke’s Bay Regiment. Dated 4th February, 1929.

The Wellington Regiment.

Maurice George Rogers to be 2nd Lieutenant, and is posted to the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 14th September, 1928.

The Wellington West Coast Regiment.

Lieutenant G. W. Dempsey, 4th C Battalion, to be Captain. Dated 21st December, 1928.

2nd Lieutenant H. J. Dalzell, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 24th January, 1929.

The Hawke’s Bay Regiment.

Lieutenant C. M. Williamson, from the Waikato Regiment to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from 2nd August, 1923, and is posted to the 2nd C Battalion. Dated 4th February, 1929.

Lieutenant J. R. Paku, 1st Battalion, is retired. Dated 26th January, 1929.

The Canterbury Regiment.

Lieutenant C. L. King, from the Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment, to be Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 1st May, 1926, and is posted to the 4th C Battalion. Dated 24th January, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant H. J. Dalzell, from the Wellington West Coast Regiment, to be 2nd Lieutenant, with seniority as from the 10th February, 1928, and is posted to the 4th C Battalion. Dated 24th January, 1929.

2nd Lieutenant N. W. M. Hawkins ceases to be posted to the 4th C Battalion, and is posted to the 1st Battalion. Dated 24th January, 1929.

The Nelson, Marlborough, and West Coast Regiment.

Lieutenant C. L. King, 2nd C Battalion, is transferred to the Canterbury Regiment. Dated 24th January, 1929.

N.Z. MEDICAL CORPS.

Alfred Lionel de Berri Noakes, M.B., to be Lieutenant, and is attached for duty to the Northern Depot, N.Z.M.C. Dated 7th November, 1928.

Henry Charles Tod, M.B., to be Lieutenant, and is attached to the 1st Battalion, Hauraki Regiment. Dated 16th January, 1929.

Captain D. M. Mitchell, M.B., is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 4th February, 1929.

N.Z. CHAPLAINS DEPARTMENT.

The Reverend J. R. Young, Chaplain, 4th Class, Reserve List, Class I, is transferred from R.D. 9 to R.D. 8. Dated 2nd October, 1928.

RESERVE OF OFFICERS.

The Regiment of N.Z. Artillery.

2nd Lieutenant G. B. Gibbons is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 4th February, 1929.

Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Officers’ Decoration.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has approved of the dismissal of the undermentioned soldier of the Territorial Force from the New Zealand Defence Forces, under section 6 (b), Defence Act, 1909, he having been convicted by the Civil power:—

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Featherston County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County of Featherston, taken on the 18th day of January, 1929, on the proposal of the Featherston County Council to borrow the sum of £9,000 for the improvement of the main highways within the county, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 200; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 56; informal, 6.

I therefore declare the proposal was carried.

Dated this 1st day of February, 1929.

FEATHERSTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

Result of Poll.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the County of Featherston, taken on the 18th day of January, 1929, on the proposal of the Featherston County Council to authorize a special rate, to be called a “Bridge Rate,” to provide security for loans to reconstruct any bridge within the county damaged or destroyed by flood or fire or other mischance, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 208; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 50; informal, 4.

I therefore declare the proposal was carried.
