Classification of Streets in Onehunga Borough.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on me by the Motor-lorry Regulations, 1927, and clause (3) of Regulation 3 of the Motor-lorry Regulations Amendment No. 2, I, Ethelbert Alfred Ransom, Minister of Public Works, do hereby declare that the streets described in the Schedule hereto, situated in the said borough, shall belong to the respective classes of streets shown in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

STREETS classified in the first class (available for the use thereon of any motor-lorry)—
Queen Street from the Wharf to Trafalgar Street,
Trafalgar Street from Queen Street to Auckland Road, and
Auckland Road to the boundary at Turama Road.

Streets classified in the second class (available for the use thereon of any motor lorry which with the load it is carrying weighs not more than 8 tons)—
Church Street East and West, Princes Street East and West, Mount Smart Road, Campbell Road, Mount Albert Road.

Open Season for Deer-shooting, Ashburton (Alford Forest) Acclimatization District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 1st day of April, 1929, to the 10th day of May, 1929 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Ashburton Acclimatization District for the taking or killing of the following imported game—viz., red-deer stags and hinds—within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the First Schedule hereto, subject to the following conditions.

CONDITIONS.

1. LICENSES to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds may be issued by the Postmaster at Ashburton, upon the recommendation of the Secretary of the Ashburton Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £5, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification. The number of such licenses to be issued by the said Postmaster shall not exceed fifteen: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person; and also that if the number of applications received for licenses exceeds the number of available licenses, then the persons to whom such licenses are to be issued shall be decided by ballot.

2. No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him. Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullet shall be used for killing such deer.

3. Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

4. Regulations as to the use of marks of identification of deer-heads, contained in section 6 of the regulations under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th February, 1924, page 437, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the Secretary of the Ashburton Acclimatization Society, Ashburton, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

5. Nothing in any license to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

6. Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable, on conviction, to a fine of £20.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

License to take or kill Imported Game (Deer).

, of , having this day paid the sum of £5, is hereby authorized to take or kill red-deer stags and hinds within that part of the Ashburton Acclimatization District known as Alford Forest, from the 1st day of April, 1929, to the 10th day of May, 1929 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and all regulations and notifications affecting red-deer stags and hinds made thereunder and in force within the said district.

This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or kill red-deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.
