IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by subsection (2) of section 4 of the Orchard-tax Act, 1927, I, George William Forbes, Minister of Agriculture, do hereby declare that the provisions of section 4 of the said Act shall apply with respect to the Wairarapa Commercial Fruitgrowing District, declared as such pursuant to the provisions in that behalf of the Fireblight Act, 1922.

Boundaries of Naseby Plantation Fire District extended.


WHEREAS by a notice in the Gazette on the 10th day of March, 1927, at page 592 (hereinafter referred to as “the said notice”), a certain area in Blocks I, V, VI, VII, VIII, Naseby Survey District, Otago Land District (inter alia), was declared to be a fire district under the name of the Naseby Plantation Fire District:

And whereas it is expedient to extend the boundaries of the said fire district by including therein the land declared in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of section 27 of the Forests Act, 1921–22, and on the recommendation of the Director of Forestry and the Land Board of the Otago Land District, I do hereby declare the land described in the Schedule hereto to be part of the Naseby Plantation Fire District constituted by the said notice, and do hereby vary the said notice accordingly.

Dated this 3rd day of October, 1929.

OTAGO LAND DISTRICT.—CANTERBURY-OTAGO FOREST-CONSERVATION REGION.

Extension of Naseby Fire District.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 9,933 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks I, II, and V, Naseby Survey District, and Blocks I and IV, Kyeburn Survey District, and bounded generally as follows: Towards the north-west by a line bearing due north-east from Trig. Station “J,” in Block V, Naseby Survey District, to Deep Stream; towards the north-east by the said Deep Stream to its intersection with the western boundary of Run 591; towards the east by Run 591 to and across a road; again towards the north-west by a road; again towards the east by Sections 4 and 5, Block IV, Kyeburn Survey District; towards the south and south-east by Section 18, Block I, Kyeburn Survey District; again towards the south-east and towards the east by Section 17, Block I, Kyeburn Survey District; again towards the north-east by a road; again towards the east by Section 18 aforesaid; again towards the south by Dansey’s Pass Road to the south-western corner of Section 15, Block I, Kyeburn Survey District; towards the south-west by a water-race reserve, Section 76, Block I, Naseby Survey District, Mount Buster Road, and again by the aforesaid water-race reserve to its intersection with the northern boundary produced of Section 81, Block I, Naseby Survey District; again towards the south by Section 81 aforesaid, and the Borough of Naseby; again towards the south-east by the Borough of Naseby; again towards the south and again towards the south by the Naseby-Ranfurly Road; and towards the west and again towards the south by the Naseby Plantation Fire District (Gazette, 1927, page 592). As the same is more particularly delineated on plan No. 176/10, deposited in the Head Office of the State Forest Service, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Prohibition of Issue of Money-order and Transmission of Postal Correspondence in New Zealand for George Hooper, Melbourne.


THE Postmaster-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, having reasonable ground for supposing that the person whose name and address are shown in the Schedule hereunder is engaged in promoting or carrying out a lottery or scheme of chance, it is hereby ordered, under section 32 of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1928, that no money-order in favour of the said person shall be issued, and that no postal packet addressed to the said person (either by his own or any fictitious or assumed name), or addressed to the address in the Schedule hereunder without a name, shall be either registered or forwarded by the Post Office of New Zealand.
