(£19,600), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of redeeming portion of a loan of £23,000 which matured on the 1st July, 1929, the Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five-hundred-and-twenty-seven thousand - one - hundred - and - fifty - seven one - million - two-hundred - and - fifty - thousandths (527157/1250000ths) of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within the St. Albans Channelling Loan Special-rating Area, as defined in the Schedule hereto, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-five (25) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
SCHEDULE REFERRED TO ABOVE.
Commencing at a point on the southern side of May’s Road, ten chains from its intersection with Papanui Road; thence parallel with Papanui Road going south to the north side of Weston Road; thence along the northern side of Weston Road to Rutland Street; thence southerly along Rutland Street to St. Albans Creek; thence following St. Albans Creek to a point five chains north of Edgeware Road; thence easterly parallel with Edgeware Road to a point on Rural Section 219, opposite a line taken through Rural Section 286, two and a half chains east of Barbadoes Street and parallel with that street; thence southerly along the said line to the north side of Bealey Avenue; thence westerly along the north side of Bealey Avenue and the River Avon to Rossall Street; thence along the eastern side of Rossall Street to a point ten chains north of Leinster Road on Rural Section 142; thence easterly parallel with Leinster Road to a point twenty chains from Papanui Road; thence northerly parallel with Papanui Road through Rural Sections 142 and 299 to Norman’s Road; thence along Norman’s Road, Papanui Road, and May’s Road to the starting-point.
We hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the Christchurch City Council at a meeting held on Monday, the 16th day of September, 1929.

Buildings, Memorial Square, Carterton, on Friday, 11th October, 1929, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., to receive the account of the manner in which the winding-up of the company’s affairs has been conducted, and the assets of the company disposed of.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto existing between HENRY ELLIS and EDWARD BREWER, carrying on the business at Newton Place, at Auckland, as Plumbers, under the style or firm of “Ellis and Brewer,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 31st day of August, 1929.
All debts due to and owing by the late firm will be received and paid respectively by Edward Brewer, who will in future carry on the said business on his own account.

COROMANDEL COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1928, OF INTENTION TO CLOSE ROAD AND TO TAKE LAND FOR NEW ROAD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Coromandel County Council proposes, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1928, and the Counties Act, 1920 (1) to execute a certain public work—to wit, to construct a road through Puketutu Block—and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the First Schedule hereto is required to be taken; and (2) to close the road described in the Second Schedule hereto: And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the land so required to be taken, and of the road to be closed, is deposited in the public office of the Clerk of the said Council at Coromandel, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land, or by the closing of such road, who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said land or to the closing of the said road must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Clerk of the Coromandel County Council at his office at Coromandel.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
Approximate area and description of land to be taken for a road: 3 roods 8·6 perches.
Portion of Puketutu Block, situate in Block IV, Whitianga Survey District, in the County of Coromandel, and Land District of Auckland; coloured red on said plan.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of the piece of road to be closed: 3 roods 15 perches.
Portion of Puketutu Block aforesaid; coloured green on said plan.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Piako County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £450, authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of metalling McCabe’s Road, in the Waihou Riding, the said Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one-eighth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable unimproved value of all rateable property of the McCabe’s Road Special-rating Area of the Piako County, comprising all that area in the Land District of Auckland bounded, commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section 10, Block XI, Aroha Survey District; towards the south and west by the southern boundary of said Section 10 and by the south-western boundary of part Section 9, same block, shown on deposited plan 15330, to where it meets the southern boundary of other part Section 9, shown on deposited plan 10911, and by the southern and western boundaries of this last-mentioned part to a point in the western boundary 8 chains from the road; thence due west parallel with the road to the south-western boundary of Section 9 aforesaid, and by this boundary and road-crossing and the western boundary of Section 92, same block; towards
