THE following notice, received from the Chairman, North Canterbury Electric-power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

NORTH CANTERBURY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the inner area of the North Canterbury Electric-power District, taken on the 31st day of January, 1928, on the proposal of the North Canterbury Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of one hundred and sixty thousand three hundred pounds (£160,300) for the purpose of purchasing from the corporations of the counties of Kowai, Rangiora, and Eyre the electric mains, lines, equipment, materials, and things belonging to the said corporations, and now used for supplying the said counties respectively with electric power and energy; and for the purpose of acquiring from the Crown the transmission-lines, substations, switch-gear, and all accessories belonging to the Crown within the said Electric-power District, and used for supplying electricity to the area in that district, and altering and improving the same, and carrying out and paying for the work or extended electrical reticulation, erecting mains, and providing material and things necessary or incidental to supplying the power district and its outer area with electric energy and power, and exercising the powers conferred on the Board for making advances to consumers, the purchase of land, and (or) buildings, and the erection of buildings, and the purchase of furniture and equipment for the purposes of the Board, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 430; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 86.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Tauranga Electric-power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

TAURANGA ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give public notice that at the poll of ratepayers of the Tauranga Electric-power District, taken on the 24th day of August, 1929, on the proposal of the Tauranga Electric-power Board to raise loans of £25,000 for electric works and £5,000 for financing consumers, the number of votes cast was as follows:—
£25,000 Loan.
For the proposal, 387; against the proposal, 70; informal, 2.
£5,000 Loan.
For the proposal, 384; against the proposal, 70; informal, 5.
As the number of votes cast for the proposal was in each case more than three-fifths of the valid votes cast at the poll in each case, I therefore declare the proposals were each carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, South Taranaki Electric-power Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

SOUTH TARANAKI ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
Notice of Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the South Taranaki Electric-power District taken on the 5th day of September, 1929, on the proposal of the South Taranaki Electric-power Board to borrow the sum of £187,500, for a term of twenty-six years, at a rate of interest not exceeding five pounds ten shillings per centum per annum, plus a sinking fund of two pounds per centum per annum, for the purpose of supplying and distributing electric energy for the benefit of the South Taranaki Electric-power District, and of doing all or any of such matters and things as the Board is empowered to do by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and its amendments, and by the Local Legislation Act, 1926, section 45, and in particular (but without limiting the foregoing) of purchasing the assets and undertaking of the Hawera County Electric Company, Ltd., and of providing, erecting, and constructing a system of electric distribution and reticulation in such parts of the South Taranaki Electric-power District as are not at present reticulated, and of improving, adding to, and extending the present system of distribution and reticulation, and of making provision for financial assistance to consumers, and for trading purposes as provided by the said Electric-power Boards Act:
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 1,063; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 208; there were 6 informal votes.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.
