ALEXANDRA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Workers’ Dwelling Loan, 1927 (£1,500).
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Council of the Borough of Alexandra hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one thousand five hundred pounds (£1,500) authorized by a special order passed on the seventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, and confirmed on the eleventh day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, to be raised by the Council of the Borough of Alexandra under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of making advances to workers for the erection of dwellings, the said Council of the Borough of Alexandra hereby makes and levies a special rate of four pence in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the Borough of Alexandra, comprising the whole of the said borough, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 30th day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Alexandra Borough Council held on the 5th day of August, 1929.

THE NELSON DISTRICT TOBACCO-GROWERS’ ASSOCIATION, LIMITED.
In the matter of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, 1908, and in the matter of THE NELSON DISTRICT TOBACCO-GROWERS’ ASSOCIATION, LIMITED.
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named association, duly convened and held at Riwaka on the 6th day of July, 1929, the following resolution was duly passed, and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the said association, held at Riwaka on the 22nd day of July, 1929, the same resolution was duly confirmed as a special resolution, viz.:—
“That all the liabilities of the association having been discharged it is advisable that the association be dissolved, and accordingly that the association be dissolved from the 22nd day of July, 1929.”

UNION INVESTMENT COMPANY, LIMITED.
IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of UNION INVESTMENT COMPANY, LIMITED, a private company registered under Section 164 of the Act.
THE following resolution has been duly signed in accordance with section 168, subsection (6):—
“That UNION INVESTMENT COMPANY, LIMITED, be wound up voluntarily under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that DOUGLAS ERROL GRAY, Company Secretary, of Auckland, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

MATAKAOA COUNTY COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Counties Act, 1920, and the Public Works Act, 1928.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Matakaoa County Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the acquisition of land for the purposes of erection thereon of a worker’s dwelling—and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken:
And notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Clerk to the said Council, situate at Te Araroa, and is open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours.
All persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such lands who have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands must state their objections in writing, and send the same, within forty days from the 15th day of August, 1929, being the date of the first publication of this notice, to the County Clerk, at the Council Chambers, Te Araroa aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
Approximate area of parcel of land required to be taken: 9 acres 2 roods 20 perches.
Description of land: Part of the Wharekahika 17 Block, shown on plan marked 1357 (brown), situate in Block V, Matakaoa Survey District (Gisborne Registration District), Matakaoa County.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.
NOTICE is hereby given that, on the fourteenth day of August, 1929, the following resolution was passed at a meeting of the above-named company, and an entry thereof was made in the company’s minute-book in accordance with section 168, subsection (6), of the Companies Act, 1908, and that such entry was signed as required by the said subsection, and is as follows:—
Resolved: “That as the company is unable to carry on business owing to its liabilities, it be wound up voluntarily, and that Mr. CHARLES DOUGLAS WILSON, of Napier, Public Accountant, be and he is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of CROMWELL MOTORS, LIMITED.
NOTICE is hereby given that, pursuant to section 168, subsection (6), of the Companies Act, 1908, the following entry was made in the minute-book of the company, signed by at least three-fourths of the members of the company, holding in the aggregate at least three-fourths of the shares in the capital of CROMWELL MOTORS, LIMITED, viz.:—
“We, the undersigned members of CROMWELL MOTORS, LIMITED, being at least three-fourths of such members, holding in the aggregate at least three-fourths of the shares in the capital of the company, resolve, pursuant to the provisions of section 168, subsection (6), of the Companies Act, 1908, that the company be wound up voluntarily, and that JOHN LEOPOLD STEWART WRIGHT, of Cromwell, Accountant, be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up at a fee of thirty-five guineas.”

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
Taneatua Footpaths Loan.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Whakatane County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of five hundred pounds sterling (£500), authorized to be raised by the Whakatane County Council under the above-mentioned Act for formation, tar-sealing, and gravelling, also concrete-kerbing of footpaths within the Township of Taneatua, the said Whakatane County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny farthing (1¼d.) in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Taneatua Footpaths Loan Special-rating Area, comprising all that area in the
