RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

North Ward S.I. Redemption Loan, 1928, of £2,891.
Passed 10th January, 1929.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Invercargill Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £2,891, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for paying off (after deduction of accumulated sinking fund) part of the loan of £3,800, raised by the Borough of South Invercargill, falling due on the 1st day of December, 1928, and for which sum of £2,891 the Invercargill Borough is now liable by reason of alteration of the borough boundaries, the said the Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought four two (0·042) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Passed 10th January, 1929.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Invercargill Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £5,155, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for paying off (after deduction of accumulated sinking fund) the loan of £5,900, raised by the Borough of South Invercargill, falling due on the 1st day of December, 1928, and for which the Invercargill Borough is now liable by reason of alteration of the borough boundaries, the said the Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought seven five (0·075) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Abattoir Redemption Loan, 1929, of £6,650.
Passed 4th December, 1928.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Invercargill Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £6,650, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for paying off the balance (after deducting accumulated sinking fund) of the Abattoir Loan of the Invercargill Borough of £10,000, falling due on the 1st day of January, 1929, the said the Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal nought nine seven (0·097) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-one years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908, and in the matter of the liquidation of SUN AND YEW, LIMITED, a private company duly incorporated under the said Act.

AT a special meeting of shareholders of SUN AND YEW, LIMITED, held at the registered office of the company, 326 Queen Street, Auckland, on Thursday, the 24th day of January, 1929, at 3 o’clock p.m., it was resolved that owing to the principals of the company wishing to return to China the company go into voluntary liquidation for the purpose of winding up the affairs of the company, and that Messrs. AU SUN YUE and GEORGE WONG YEW be appointed Liquidators to the company.

I, DAVID GERVAN McMILLAN, M.B., Ch.B., 1929, N.Z., now residing in Wellington, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 28th February, 1929, to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of Health at Wellington.

POVERTY BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
——

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the principal, interest, and other charges on a loan of £21,750, authorized to be raised by the Poverty Bay Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of completing the undertaking in respect of which a loan of £280,000 was raised in the year 1926, namely:—
(1) To purchase the electrical undertaking of the Borough of Gisborne and the sinking fund now lying to the credit of the Borough Council, in respect of its existing electric-power loans, and to take over the Gisborne Borough Electric-light Loan, 1926, of £20,000, now be raised by the said borough to add to and improve the existing electrical plant of the said borough;
(2) To provide, construct, and erect all electrical distribution and reticulation of the Poverty Bay Electric-power District, and provide tools, plant, buildings, and equipment for the same, as defined by the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925;
(3) To provide money to install all electrical and other equipment for consumers as provided for under section 118 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, and to provide money to purchase electrical and other equipment to sell to consumers as provided for under section 120 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925;
the said Poverty Bay Electric-power Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of 5/128ths of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Poverty Bay Electric-power District, comprising the whole of the Poverty Bay Electric-power District, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of December in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
