AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company, held at Dunedin on the 21st day of January, 1929, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

Resolved: “That the company be wound up voluntarily, and that JOHN H. A. McKEEFRY, of Dunedin, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.”

IN accordance with the provisions of sections 230 and 252 of the Companies Act, 1908, notice is hereby given that a general meeting of the members of the company will be held at the office of the Liquidator, 58–9 Endean’s Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, 26th February, 1929, at 10.30 o’clock a.m.

Business: To receive and adopt the Liquidator’s report and statement of affairs, showing how the winding-up of the company has been conducted and its property disposed of.

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable that it be wound up voluntarily, and that the company be wound up accordingly, and that ARTHUR STEWART, of Christchurch, Public Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator.”

WAIMAKARIRI RIVER TRUST.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.

In the matter of the Waimakariri River Improvement Act, 1922, the River Boards Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1928.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Waimakariri River Trust proposes, under the provisions of the above-mentioned Acts, to execute a certain public work—namely, the diversion of the Waimakariri River and the improvement and flood control of such river, and river-conversation works generally—and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken:

Notice is hereby further given that a plan of the lands so required to be taken is deposited in the public office of the Waimakariri River Trust, situate at Commerce Hall, corner Worcester Street and Oxford Terrace, Christchurch, and is open for inspection (without payment of any fee) by all persons during office hours:

All persons affected by or having any well-grounded objections to the execution of such work or the taking of the said lands are required to state forthwith, in writing, such objections, and forward such writing within forty days from the first publication of this notice to the Waimakariri River Trust at its public office, situate as aforesaid. No objection to the amount or payment of compensation in respect of the execution of such work is a well-grounded objection.

SCHEDULE.

All that parcel of land situate in the Waimakariri River Trust District and in the Eyre County, and situate in Block III of the Christchurch Survey District, in the Land District of Canterbury, and containing by admeasurement one hundred and eighteen acres and thirty perches (118 acres and 30 perches), be the same a little more or less, and being Rural Sections 412, 466, and part of Rural Section 876, and being the whole of the land comprised in Certificates of Title Vol. 92, folio 67, Vol. 153, folio 42, and Vol. 405, folio 213; as the same is more particularly delineated on the said plan prepared by Harold Wilson Harris, of Christchurch, Licensed Surveyor, and signed by him on the 20th day of December, 1928, and therein coloured green:

Also all that parcel of land situate in the Waimakariri River Trust District and in the County of Eyre, and situate in Block III of the Christchurch Survey District, in the Land District of Canterbury, and containing by admeasurement fourteen acres and three roods (14 acres and 3 roods), be the same a little more or less, and being part of Rural Section 738, and being part of the land comprised in Certificate of Title Vol. 219, folio 177; as the same is more particularly delineated on the said plan prepared by Harold Wilson Harris, of Christchurch, Licensed Surveyor, and signed by him on the 20th day of December, 1928, and therein coloured pink.

BOROUGH OF INVERCARGILL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

South Area Water and Sewerage Loan of £62,500, 1929.

Passed 10th January, 1929.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Invercargill Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £62,500, authorized to be raised by the Invercargill Borough Council under the above-mentioned Act for the installation of a water-supply and street reticulation of main-pipes, and sewerage installation and reticulation of sewers for the area, now part of the Borough of Invercargill, described in Order in Council dated the 13th December, 1927, Gazette No. 87, including outfall sewer for existing sewerage tanks, as required by the Board of Health by requisition dated 19th November, 1928, made under section 22 of the Health Act, 1920, the said the Invercargill Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of decimal six nine nine (0·699) of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Invercargill, comprising the whole of the Borough of Invercargill, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 31st day of July in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
