THE following special order, made by the Netherton Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, and amendments.

NETHERTON DRAINAGE BOARD.

Certified Copy of Resolution passed at Special Meeting of the Netherton Drainage Board on the 21st day of December, 1928, making Special Order.

THE Netherton Drainage Board, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 16 of the Land Drainage Act, 1908, by section 3 of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1908, and by section 2 of the Land Drainage Amendment Act, 1920, resolves by way of special order as follows,—

  1. That the Netherton Drainage District is hereby subdivided into three subdivisions, named respectively, Northern Subdivision, Awati Subdivision, and “H” Drain Subdivision, which said subdivisions are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.

  2. That the number of Trustees to be elected for each subdivision be as follows: Northern Subdivision, one Trustee; Awati Subdivision, two Trustees; “H” Drain Subdivision, two Trustees.

Schedule.

Northern Subdivision.—All that area of land within the Netherton Drainage District commencing at a point on the left bank of the Waihou River at the north-east corner of the boundary of the aforesaid Netherton Drainage District, and following the said left bank of the Waihou River in a southerly direction to the south-east corner of the middle part of Section 1, Block XI, Waihou; thence following the southern boundary of the middle part of Section 1 in a westerly direction in a direct line to a point 25 chains from the western boundary of Section 5, Tahanui Block; thence by a direct line in a southerly direction to the northern boundary of the education reserve; thence in a south-westerly direction following the northern boundary of the said education reserve to the intersection of Fisher’s Road and School Road; thence following the western and northern boundary of the Netherton Drainage District to the point of commencement.

Awati Subdivision.—All that area of land within the Netherton Drainage District commencing at a point, the south-east corner of the middle part of Section 1, Block XI, Waihou; thence following the northern boundary of the south part of Section 1, Block XI, Waihou, to a point 25 chains from the western boundary of Section 5, Tahanui Block; thence by a direct line in a southerly direction to the northern boundary of the education reserve; thence in a south-westerly direction following the boundary of the said education reserve to a point at the intersection of Fisher’s and School Roads and Munroe’s Road; thence following the western boundary of the Netherton Drainage District in a southerly direction to the south-east corner of Section 7, Block XV, Waihou; thence in a northerly direction to the north-west corner of Lot 6, Section 9, 7A, Block XII, Waihou; thence along the centre of Wilson’s Road in a north-westerly direction to the south-east corner of Section 6, Block XI, Waihou; thence following the eastern boundary of the said Section 6 to the centre of the Old Paeroa Main Road; thence following the centre of the old Paeroa Main Road in a westerly direction to the south-east corner of Lot 1 of Section 4, Blocks XI and XII, Waihou; thence following the eastern boundary of Lot 1 of Section 4 in a northerly direction to the Waihou River; thence following the left bank of the Waihou River to the Netherton Road; thence following the centre of the road in a southerly direction to the point of commencement.

“H” Drain Subdivision.—All that area of land within the Netherton Drainage District commencing at a point on the left bank of the Waihou River at the north-west corner of Lot 2 of Section 4, Block XI, and of Section 5, Block XII; thence following the eastern boundary of the Netherton Drainage District in an easterly, southerly, westerly, and northerly direction to the south-west corner of Lot 1 of Section 1, Block XVI, Waihou; thence in a northerly direction to the north-west corner of Lot 6 of Section 9, 7A, Block XII, Waihou; thence following the centre of Wilson’s Road in a north-westerly direction to the south-east corner of Section 6, Block XI, Waihou; thence following the eastern boundary of the said section to the centre of the old Paeroa Main Road; thence following the centre of the Old Paeroa Main Road in a westerly direction to the south-west corner of Lot 2 of Sections 4 and 5, Blocks XI and XII, Waihou; thence following the western boundary of the said Lot 2 to the point of commencement.

Notice under the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22, and its Amendment, fixing the Closing-hours of Tobacconists’ Shops within the Borough of Hastings.

WHEREAS a requisition in writing has been forwarded to me from the occupiers of tobacconists’ shops within the Borough of Hastings, pursuant to section 32 of the Shops and Offices Act, 1921–22:

Now, therefore, in pursuance of the said section 32, I, William Andrew Veitch, Minister of Labour, do hereby direct that on and after the 15th day of July, 1929, all the tobacconists’ shops within the said borough shall be closed in the evening of working-days as follows: On Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 6 p.m., and on Saturdays at 9.30 p.m. with the following exceptions: (1) Should the occupier of any shop affected by this notice observe Saturday as the statutory closing-day, then and in such case the closing-hour on Wednesday shall be 6 p.m. and on Friday 9.30 p.m.; (2) on the working-day immediately preceding Christmas Day and on the working-day immediately preceding New Year’s Day there shall be no fixed closing-hour.

The notice dated the 4th July, 1917, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 5th July, 1917, fixing the closing-hours of hairdressers and tobacconists’ shops in the Borough of Hastings shall be and is hereby cancelled in so far as it
