Removal of a Name from the Commission of the Peace.

H IS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased, in terms of section 8 of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927, to direct the removal of the name of
William Langley Rowlands,
of Auckland, from the Commission of the Peace; and it is hereby notified that such name has been removed accordingly, and that such removal will take effect on and from this 22nd day of June, 1929.

Open Season for Sambur Deer Shooting, Rotorua Acclimatization District, Counties of Rotorua and Whakatane.
In exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, I, Philip Aldborough de la Perrelle, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare the period from the 15th day of July, 1929, to the 15th day of August, 1929 (both days inclusive), to be an open season in the Rotorua Acclimatization District for the taking or killing of the following imported game viz., Sambur deer stags and hinds—within that part of the said acclimatization district described in the First Schedule hereto, subject to the following conditions.
CONDITIONS.

Licenses to take or kill Sambur deer stags and hinds may be issued by the District Manager, Department of Tourist and Health Resorts, at Rotorua, on payment of a license fee of £2, in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and regulations thereunder and this notification: Provided that not more than one such license shall be issued to the same person. The number of such licenses shall not exceed ten, and if the applications exceed the number of available licenses, then the persons to whom such licenses are to be issued shall be decided by ballot.

No licensee shall take or kill more than two Sambur deer stags, and one hind. Ball cartridge only to be used; provided that no metal-patched or metal-cased bullet shall be used for killing such deer.

No licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or portion thereof.

Regulations as to the use of marks of identification of deer-heads contained in section 6 of the regulations under the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 7th February, 1924, page 437, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the District Manager, Department of Tourist and Health Resorts at Rotorua, immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

Nothing in any license to take or kill Sambur deer stags and hinds shall authorize the holder thereof to take or kill Sambur deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.

Any person committing a breach of any of these conditions is liable on conviction to a fine of £20.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
All that area comprising the Counties of Rotorua and Whakatane.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
License to take or kill Imported Game (Deer).
, of , having this day paid the sum of £2, is hereby authorized to take or kill two Sambur deer stags and one hind within that part of the Rotorua Acclimatization District as described on the endorsement hereon from the 15th day of July, 1929, to the 15th day of August, 1929 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection and Game Act, 1921–22, and all regulations and notifications affecting Sambur deer stags and hinds made thereunder and in force within the said district.
This license does not authorize the holder thereof to take or kill Sambur deer stags or hinds on lands actually and exclusively used by any registered acclimatization society for acclimatization purposes, or on any sanctuary or public domain, or on any land excepted from the operation of the notification declaring an open season for the district.
