MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL.

EXTRACT FROM THE MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS OF THE MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL AT A MEETING OF SUCH COUNCIL HELD ON THE 9TH DAY OF APRIL, 1929.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Masterton County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Masterton County Stronvar-Ngahape Special-rating District Loan of £1,500 (1927), and on the Masterton County Stronvar-Ngahape Special-rating District Supplementary Loan of £150 (1929), being 10 per cent. additional to the said loan of £1,500 authorized to be raised by the Masterton County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of metalling approximately two miles and a half of the Stronvar Road and approximately three-quarters of a mile of the Ngahape Road in the Wainuioru Riding, the said Council, pursuant to section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926 hereby increases to twenty-seven sixty-fourths (27/64ths) of a penny in the pound sterling the special rate of thirteen thirty-seconds (13/32nds) of a penny in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said Council on the 8th day of March, 1927, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette, 1927, at page 720, on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Stronvar-Ngahape Special-rating District (particularly described in the said Gazette notice), such rate of thirteen thirty-seconds (13/32nds) of a penny in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such original loan of £1,500 and such supplementary loan of £150, and that such special rate (as increased) shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such supplementary loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such supplementary loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years, or until the supplementary loan is fully paid off.—Carried.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Masterton was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Masterton County Council in the presence of—

IN VOLUNTARY LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given that by resolution, duly passed on the 10th April, 1929, the above company went into voluntary liquidation, and appointed NORMAN ALEXANDER DUTHIE, of Auckland, Public Accountant, to be the Liquidator of the company.

All persons, firms, or corporations having claims against the said company are hereby required to forward particulars of same, together with proof of debt, in the prescribed form to the Liquidator at the address given below, on or before the 10th May, 1929.

COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IT was resolved, on the motion of Councillor Kerr-Taylor, seconded by Councillor Mackie, that in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £1,820, being 10 per centum on a loan of £30,000, authorized to be raised by the Waitemata County Council under the above-mentioned Act, by the ratepayers of the Kumeu Riding, on the 12th day of December, 1923, for the purposes of road construction, bridge and culvert building, and constructing and metalling roads in the Kumeu Riding of the County of Waitemata, the said Waitemata County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-eighth of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in the said Kumeu Riding, and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 30th day of September and the 30th day of March in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a special resolution passed at a meeting of the Waitemata County Council held on the 22nd day of March, 1929.
