COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IT was resolved on the motion of Councillor O’Halloran,
seconded by the Chairman, that in pursuance of an
Order in Council of His Excellency the Governor-General in
Council (vide N.Z. Gazette No. 20, 21st March, 1929, page 758),
authorizing the raising of the sum of £1,260, known as the
Takapuna Supplementary Loan (1929) for the purposes of
completing works for which the Takapuna Riding Loan of
£16,000 was authorized in 1924, as follows:—
That, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it
in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the
Waitemata County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £1,260, being 10 per centum on a loan of
£16,000, authorized to be raised by the Waitemata County
Council under the above-mentioned Act, by the ratepayers of
the Takapuna Riding, in 1924, for the purposes of road con-
struction, bridge and culvert building, constructing and
metalling roads, and wharf improvements in the Takapuna
Riding of the County of Waitemata, the said Waitemata
County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-
sixteenth of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value
of all rateable property in the said Takapuna Riding, and
that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during
the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the
30th day of September and the 30th day of March in each and
every year during the currency of such loan, being a period
of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of a
resolution passed by the Waitemata County Council at a
meeting held on the 22nd day of March, 1929.

I, MARJORY HELEN ELLIS, heretofore called and
known by the name of “Marjory Helen Leighton,”
hereby give public notice that on the 28th day of March,
1929, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and
abandoned the use of my said surname of “Leighton,” and
then assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on all
occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of ELLIS
instead of the said name of LEIGHTON.
And I give further notice that by a deed poll dated the
28th day of March, 1929, duly executed and attested, I
formally and absolutely renounced and abandoned the said
surname of “Leighton,” and declared that I had assumed and
adopted, and intended thenceforth upon all occasions whatso-
ever to use and subscribe the name of “Marjory Helen Ellis”
instead of “Marjory Helen Leighton,” and so as to be at all
times thereafter called, known, and described by the name of
MARJORY HELEN ELLIS exclusively.

known by the name of “Winifred Bessie Leighton,”
hereby give public notice that on the 28th day of March,
1929, I formally and absolutely renounced, relinquished, and
abandoned the use of my said surname of “Leighton,” and
then assumed and adopted, and determined thenceforth on
all occasions whatsoever to use and subscribe the name of
ELLIS instead of the said name of LEIGHTON.
And I give further notice that by a deed poll dated the

NOTICE is hereby given that by an extraordinary resolu-
tion of the company passed on the 23rd March, 1928,
it was resolved that the above company, by reason of its
liabilities, cannot continue its business, and that it be wound
up voluntarily.

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore
subsisting between JAMES PERCIVAL HOYES and
ARTHUR WILLIAM JEFFS, carrying on business as Carriers
and Coal and Firewood Merchants at Avondale under the
style or firm of “Hoyes and Jeffs,” has been dissolved by
mutual consent as from this 13th day of April, 1929. The
said Arthur William Jeffs has retired from the said business,
which will in future be carried on by the said James Percival
Hoyes. All debts due to and owing by the late firm will be
received and paid respectively by the said James Perciva
Hoyes.

have not yet received the degree; now residing in Auckland;
hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 1st May
next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the
Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the
evidence of my qualification in the office of the Department of
Health at Auckland.

GOLDEN BAY ELECTRIC-POWER BOARD.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,
and the Rating Act, 1925, the Golden Bay Electric-power
Board hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £3,500, authorized to be raised by the
Golden Bay Electric-power Board under the above-mentioned
Acts to be known as “The Financial Assistance to Consumers
Loan, 1928,” for financing consumers of electric power, the
said Golden Bay Electric-power Board hereby makes and
levies a special rate of seven-sixteenths of a penny in the
pound on the rateable value of all rateable property in the
Golden Bay Electric-power Board District as defined in the
New Zealand Gazette No. 47 (1925), and that such special
rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency
of such loan, and shall be payable yearly on the 25th day of
September in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of six years, or until the loan is fully paid
off.
