Additional Land at Tuakau taken for the Purpose of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway, and for Road-diversion in connection therewith.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway to take further land at Tuakau, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway, and take land for road-diversion in connection therewith:

Now, therefore, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections thirty-four and two hundred and sixteen of the Public Works Act, 1928, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

FOR RAILWAY.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 8·7 perches.

Part Lot 2, D.P. 9187 of Allotment 18.

FOR ROAD-DIVERSION.

APPROXIMATE areas of the pieces of land:

In the North Auckland Land District; as the same are more particularly delineated on plans marked L.O. 107, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, and thereon coloured yellow and blue.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 19th day of March, 1929.

Altering Boundaries of Rodney and Otamatea Counties, and including Area in Kaiwaka Riding, Otamatea County.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided, inter alia, by subsection two of section fourteen of the Counties Act, 1920, that the boundaries of any two or more counties may be altered in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the Counties Act is in force:

And whereas a resolution was passed by the Otamatea County Council on the tenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight, praying for the alteration of the boundaries of the Otamatea and Rodney Counties in the manner described in the said resolution and in the First Schedule hereto:

And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Rodney County Council on the sixteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-eight:

And whereas it is expedient to make such alterations in accordance with the said resolutions, and that the area to be added to the Otamatea County should be included in the Kaiwaka Riding of that county:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said Act, I, General Sir Charles Fergusson, Baronet, Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Rodney County, shall be added to and form part of the Otamatea County: that the boundaries of the Otamatea and Rodney Counties as so altered shall be those set forth under the respective headings in the Second Schedule hereto; that the area added as aforesaid to the Otamatea County shall be included in the Kaiwaka Riding of the said county; and that the boundaries of that riding shall be those set forth in the Third Schedule hereto.

And I do also proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM RODNEY COUNTY AND INCLUDED IN OTAMATEA COUNTY.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded on the north-east by the north-eastern boundary of the Oruawharo Parish from the Hakaru River to the north-eastern corner of Section 10, Oruawharo Parish; thence along the eastern boundary of Section 10 to the road forming the southern boundary of the said Section 10; thence south-westerly along that road to the southernmost corner of Section 18, Oruawharo Parish; thence north-westerly along the road forming the south-western boundary of Sections 18, 21, and 22, Oruawharo Parish, to the road forming the south-eastern and southern boundaries of Section 29, Oruawharo Parish; thence south-westerly, westerly, and north-westerly along that road to the south-eastern boundary of Section 193, Oruawharo Parish; thence along that boundary to the Hakaru River; thence up the Hakaru River to the north-western corner of the Oruawharo Parish, the point of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

RODNEY COUNTY.

ALL that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded on the east generally by the sea from Mangawhai Harbour to the Waiwera River; thence up the middle of that river to its intersection with the north-eastern boundary of Section 52, Parish of Puhoi; thence along the southern and western boundaries of Puhoi Parish to the northern boundary of Makarau Parish; thence south-westerly along the north-western boundary of Makarau Parish to the Rauhori Stream; thence along the Rauhori Stream and the Makarau River to the Kaipara Harbour; thence by the Kaipara Harbour and the Oruawharo and Hakaru Rivers to the southernmost corner of Section 193, Oruawharo Parish; thence along the south-eastern boundary of said Section 193, to the road forming the south-western boundary of Section 31, Oruawharo Parish; thence along that road to the road forming the south-western boundary of Sections 22 and 21, Oruawharo Parish; thence along that road and along the road forming the south-eastern and southern boundaries of Sections 18, 17, 16, 15, 12, 11, and 10 to the south-eastern corner of the last-mentioned section; thence along the eastern boundary of the said Section 10 to its north-eastern corner; thence south-easterly along the northern boundary of the Oruawharo Parish to the south-western corner of Section 93, Mangawhai Parish; thence along the western and northern boundaries of said Section 93 to the western boundary of Section 92; thence along the western boundaries of Sections 92, 90, 89, 88, 87, 86, and 84, Mangawhai Parish, to Mangawhai Harbour; thence by Mangawhai Harbour to the place of commencement.

OTAMATEA COUNTY.

All that area in the North Auckland Land District bounded on the north generally by the Whangarei County as described in New Zealand Gazette, 1923, page 851, from the northernmost point of Section 166, Omaru Parish, to the sea; thence along the sea-coast to Mangawhai Harbour; thence along the northern and western shore of Mangawhai Harbour to its southernmost corner; thence by the Rodney County, hereinbefore described, to the Hakaru River; thence by the Hakaru River, the Topuni and Oruawharo Rivers, Kaipara Harbour, and the Wairoa River to the north-western corner of Tokatoka Parish; thence along the north-western boundaries of Tokatoka and Omaru Parishes to the northernmost corner of Section 166, Omaru Parish, the point of commencement.

THIRD SCHEDULE.

KAIWAKA RIDING, OTAMATEA COUNTY.

ALL that area in the Otamatea County bounded on the north, east, and south by the county boundary, and on the west by the Otamatea and Kaiwaka Rivers and eastern boundary of the Parish of Wairau.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, and issued under the Seal of that Dominion, this 26th day of March, 1929.
