RODNEY COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of ratepayers of the Whangaripo Valley Special-rating Area, taken on the 15th day of November, 1928, on the proposal of the Rodney County Council to borrow the sum of £1,700 to complete the formation and metalling of the Wellsford–Whangaripo Road from its junction with the Mangawai Road to about Came’s corner, the following votes were recorded :—
For the proposal, 32 ; against the proposal, 5 ; informal, nil.
I therefore declare the proposal carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Kawa Drainage Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

KAWA DRAINAGE BOARD.
RESULT of poll on the proposal to raise a special loan of £2,000, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, held on the 19th day of December, 1928, for the purpose of widening and deepening the main drain and No. 2 drain from the outlet to the railway.
The number of votes recorded in favour of the proposal was 10 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 5.
I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

Special Order made by the Waitomo County Council altering Riding Boundaries, and adjusting Representation.

THE following special order made by the Waitomo County Council is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.
Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 1st day of April, 1929, as the date on and from which such special order shall take effect.

SPECIAL ORDER.
WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.
IN exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1920, the Waitomo County Council resolves, by way of special order, as follows :—
- The present division of the County of Waitomo into nine ridings is revoked, and in lieu thereof the said county shall be divided into eight ridings, to be called respectively Aria Riding, Awakino Riding, Hangatiki Riding, Mahoenui Riding, Mairoa Riding, Paemako Riding, Tangitu Riding, and Te Kuiti Riding, which said ridings are respectively described in the Schedule hereto.
- The said Waitomo County Council shall consist of nine members, who shall be elected as follows :—
(a) The electors of the Paemako Riding shall elect two councillors :
(b) The electors of the Aria Riding, Awakino Riding, Hangatiki Riding, Mahoenui Riding, Mairoa Riding, Tangitu Riding, and Te Kuiti Riding shall each elect one councillor. - The alteration hereby made shall take effect on and after the 1st day of April, 1929.
SCHEDULE.
Hangatiki Riding.
All that area in the Waitomo County bounded, commencing at the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Block XV, Kawhia South Survey District ; on the west, north, and east by the county boundary to the southern boundary of Section 5, Block VI, Pakaumanu Survey District ; thence westerly along that boundary, along the southern and western boundaries of Section 2, Block VI aforesaid, the southern boundaries of Rangitoto-Tahua No. 26F 2B, Rangitoto-Tahua No. 68A, to the Mangaokewa Stream ; thence down that stream to the boundary of Te Kuiti Borough ; thence along the eastern and northern boundaries of that borough to the Main Trunk Railway, northerly along that railway to the southern boundary of Piha No. 2, along that boundary and the southern boundary of Piha No. 1, the eastern and southern boundaries of Pehitawa No. 2B 3B, southern boundaries of No. 2B 2, No. 2B 1B, and 2B 1A, along the eastern boundaries of Hauturu East No. 1E 5C 2D 1, Sections 4A and 1, Block XIV, Orahiri Survey District, and Kinohaku East No. 1B 4B 6, and the southern boundaries of the last-named block, and Kinohaku East No. 1B 4B 7 and No. 1A to Hauturu Road, across that road and along the southern boundary of Section 5, Block XVI, Kawhia South Survey District, to the eastern boundary of Section 9 ; thence along the eastern and southern boundaries of the said Section 9, the south-western boundaries of Kinohaku East 2 No. 13B 2, Section 8, Block XVI aforesaid, Kinohaku West No. 3B, and Section 6 (Small Grazing-run 26), Block XVI aforesaid, to the point of commencement.
Mairoa Riding.
All that area in the Waitomo County bounded towards the north by the Hangatiki Riding hereinbefore described from the north-eastern corner of Section 4, Block XV, Kawhia South Survey District, to Te Kuiti Borough ; thence by the western boundary of that borough to the south-eastern corner of Tapuiwahine No. 1C ; thence along the south-eastern boundary of that block, Tapuiwahine No. 1B, Karu-o-te-Whenua No. 3D 2, 3D 3C, 3D 3E, 3D 3D, and a piece of Crown land to the northern boundary of Section 2, Block II, Otanake Survey District ; thence along the northern boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block II aforesaid, the western boundary of said Section 1 and of Section 1, Block VI, Otanake, the northern boundary of Kinohaku East 2 No. 24A, the eastern boundary of Kinohaku East 2 No. 28, No. 15, No. 2, No. 28, No. 14, the southern boundaries of the said Nos. 14 and 15, the south-eastern boundaries of Lot 2 of Kinohaku East No 2, No. 28, No. 16B 1, and No. 2 No. 4B 2, and No. 2 No. 4B No. 1 ; along the southern boundaries of said No. 4B 1 and No. 4B 2, and Section 1, Block VIII, Maungamangero Survey District ; along the western boundaries of the said Section 1 and Section 2, Block VIII aforesaid, the southern boundary of Lot 1 of Section 5, Block VIII aforesaid ; along the eastern boundary of Section 14A ; along the southern boundaries of Sections 14A, 14, 15, 15A, Block VIII aforesaid, Sections 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, Block VII, Maungamangero Survey District, and of Section 7, Block VI, Maungamangero, to Mahoenui–Kawhia Road, and northerly along that road to and along the county boundary to the point of commencement.
Paemako Riding.
All that area in the Waitomo County bounded, commencing at the south-western corner of Kinohaku West G 1C 2A, on the west by the sea, on the north by the county boundary, on the east and again on the north by Mairoa Riding as hereinbefore described to the north-eastern corner of Section 2, Block II, Otanake Survey District ; thence southerly along the eastern boundaries of said Section 2, and of Karu-o-te Whenua 3D 3B, along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 16, 15, 14, 13, and 12, Block VI, Otanake Survey District, along the northern and eastern boundaries of Section 11, Block VI aforesaid, the eastern boundaries of Sections 9, 8, and Quarry Reserve, Block VI aforesaid, to the Mokau River ; thence down that river to the north-eastern boundary of Maraetaua 5D ; thence along that boundary, the northern boundaries of Sections 4 and 6, Block II, Totoro Survey District, along the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 8 and 10, Block II aforesaid, of Sections 3 and 4, Block V, Totoro Survey District, to the Mapara Road ; thence south-westerly along that road to the Mapara Stream, down that stream to the northern boundary of Section 18, Block VII, Totoro Survey District ; thence along the north-western and south-western boundaries of that section, along the south-western boundaries of Sections 3 and 5, Block VII aforesaid, Rangitoto-Tuhua 61G, Section 2, and Section 3, Block VIII, Totoro Survey District, to the northern boundary of Section 2, Block XI, Totoro ; thence westerly along the northern boundaries of Sections 2 and 1, Block XI aforesaid, part Aorangi A Block and Aorangi B No. 3B to the Mokau River ; thence down that river and up the Mangaotaki River to the southern boundary of Puketiti No. 4A ; thence along the southern and south-western boundaries of Puketiti 4A, the south-western boundaries of Puketiti 4B and 4C, the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Puketiti No. 1 to the Awakino River ; thence up that river to the southern boundary of Section 4, Block IX, Maungamangero Survey District, and along the southern and western boundaries of the said Section 4, to and along the road forming the northern boundary of Scenic Reserve and Section 11, Block IX aforesaid, and of Sections 7, 6, 3, 4A, 2A, and 2, Block VIII, Whareorino Survey District ; thence northerly along the western boundary of Section 3,
