Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Mayor, Dunedin City Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

DUNEDIN CITY COUNCIL.
PURSUANT to the provisions of the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1925, and the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, public notice is hereby given that at a poll taken on Tuesday, the 19th day of February, 1929, on a proposal to raise a loan of £15,000 for the purpose of purchasing land for and extending the Free Public Library Buildings, the voting was as follows :—
For the proposal, 798 votes; against the proposal, 2,238 votes.
I have, therefore, to declare the proposal to be rejected.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Otorohanga County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Otorohanga, taken on the 8th day of February, 1929, on the proposal of the Otorohanga County Council to borrow the sum of £900 for metalling the Puketawai Road from end of the present metalling as far as Mrs. Garner’s gate, near the north-east corner of Section 4, Block XIII, and that if on completing to that point there should be a balance of funds in hand, then the balance to be expended on a further extension of the metalling towards the county boundary.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 8; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

HIKURANGI TOWN BOARD.
PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Hikurangi, taken on the 19th day of February, 1929, on the proposal of the Hikurangi Town Board to borrow the sums of £4,000 and £1,000 for “electrical reticulation” and “advances to consumers to wire premises,” the votes recorded were as follows :—
Electrical Reticulation Loan, 1928, £4,000.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 56; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 38.
Advance to Consumers Loan, 1928, £1,000.
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 58; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 36.
I therefore declare that both proposals were carried.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman, Otorohanga County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Otorohanga, taken on the 8th day of February, 1929, on the proposal of the Otorohanga County Council to borrow the sum of £750 for metalling the Mangaorongo Road from end of the present metalling along frontage of Otorohanga Section 3A to the Rangiatea Junction, a distance of four miles and a half, thus completing the whole of the said road, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 13; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was nil.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Special Order made by the Opotiki County Council altering Riding Boundaries.

Wellington, 27th February, 1929.
THE following special order, made by the Opotiki County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1920.
Pursuant to section 100 of that Act, as amended by section 3 of the Counties Amendment Act, 1921–22, I hereby fix the 31st day of March, 1929, as the date from which the special order shall take effect.

Resolution that riding boundaries within the county be altered and adjusted as marked on plan submitted and as defined in the Schedule accompanying.
Passed at special meeting of the Council, held 4th October, 1928, and confirmed at meeting of the Council, held 2nd November, 1928.
SCHEDULE.
OHIWA RIDING.
ALL that area in the Gisborne Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the seashore in the Bay of Plenty, the north-eastern corner of Allotment 94, Waiotahi Parish, situated in Block I, Opotiki Survey District, proceeding in a southerly and easterly direction generally by the western and southern boundaries of the Waiotahi Riding, hereinbefore described, to where the south boundary of Allotment 399, Waiotahi Parish, intersects a road on the north boundary of the Upper Waioeka Riding in Block XI, Opotiki Survey District; thence in a southerly direction generally by the western boundary of the aforesaid Upper Waioeka Riding hereinbefore described to a point where the Koranga Stream intersects the north-western boundary of the Waikohu County in Block XI, Waioeka South Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction by the north-western boundary of the aforesaid Waikohu County to the eastern boundary of the Whakatane County in Block XII, Ruatahuna Survey District; thence in a northerly direction by the eastern boundary of the aforesaid Whakatane County to the sea, in the Bay of Plenty; thence easterly along the seashore to the place of commencement.
I hereby certify that the descriptions herein contained are correct, and sufficient to identify the boundaries of Ohiwa Riding in the Opotiki County.

All that area in the Gisborne Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on the western side of the entrance of the Opotiki Harbour, proceeding in a southerly direction by the western bank of the Opotiki Harbour by the Waioeka River by the western boundary of the Opotiki Borough; thence again by the right bank of the Waioeka Riding, the west boundary of the Waioeka Riding, hereinafter described, to a road forming the northern boundary of the Upper Waioeka Riding in Block XI, Opotiki Survey District; thence in a south-westerly direction along that road to the south-east corner of Allotment 399, Waiotahi Parish; thence by the south boundary of the said Allotment 399 and by the south-west boundary of Allotment 483 to a public road; thence northward along that road to the south-east corner of Allotment 403; thence westerly by the south boundary
