WAIKATO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING A SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waikato County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest, installments of principal, and other charges on a Supplementary Loan of £1,600, authorized to be raised by the Waikato County Council under section 19 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, for the purpose of the completion of the constructing and metalling of roads for the first time, the Waikato County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one thirteenth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable capital value of all rateable property in the Orini Specialrating District, the boundaries of which are defined in the New Zealand Gazette at page 521, published on the 17th day of February, 1921, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year for a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

WAIRARAPA SOUTH COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTIONS MAKING SPECIAL RATES.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Wairarapa South County Council hereby resolves as follows :—

Loan of £4,200.

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairarapa South County Flood Damage General Loan of £4,200, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa South County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repairing damage and for general losses caused by an extraordinary flood which occurred in December, 1924, to Hinaki Bridge (Belvedere Road), White Bridge (Belvedere Road), Nix’s Road Bridge, Booth’s Creek Bridge (Gladstone Road), Waipoapoa Bridge (East Coast Road), the said Council, pursuant to section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, hereby increases to one-nineteenth of a penny in the pound sterling the special rate of one-twentieth of a penny in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said Council on the 28th day of January, 1928, on the rateable value (on the basis of thr unimproved value) of all rateable property in the whole of the County of Wairarapa South, such rate of one-twentieth of a penny in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan, and that such special rate (as increased) shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Loan of £500.

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairarapa South County Flood Damage Belvedere Riding Loan of £500, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa South County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repairing damage and for general losses caused by an extraordinary flood which occurred in December, 1924, to bridge, Upper Belvedere Road; Hinau Gully Road; two bridges on Hururua Road; repairs to bridge, culverts, and roadway, Maungatarere Valley Road; washout in Victoria Road; the said Council, pursuant to section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, hereby increases to one twenty-second of a penny in the pound sterling the special rate of one twenty-fourth of a penny in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said Council on the 28th day of January, 1928, on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Belvedere Riding of the County of Wairarapa South, such rate of one-twenty-fourth of a penny in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan, and that such special rate (as increased) shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Loan of £300.

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on the Wairarapa South County Flood Damage Dalefield Riding Loan of £300, 1928, authorized to be raised by the Wairarapa South County Council under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of repairing damage and for general losses caused by an extraordinary flood which occurred in December, 1924, to bridges, Somerset Road; repairs to roadway, culverts, and bridges, Waiobine Bluffs Road and Beef Creek Road, the said Council, pursuant to section 23 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, hereby increases to one forty-sixth of a penny in the pound sterling the special rate of one forty-eighth of a penny in the pound sterling made and levied by resolution passed by the said Council on the 28th day of January, 1928, on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Dalefield Riding of the County of Wairarapa South, such rate of one forty-eighth of a penny in the pound sterling being insufficient to provide for payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on such loan, and that such special rate as increased shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of twenty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

MANUKAU COUNTY COUNCIL.

PAPAKURA RIDING BRIDGE RATE FUND.

Special Order.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and amendments (if any), and all other powers thereunto enabling it, and subject to Orders in Council in pursuance of section 114 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and section 3 of the Local Government Loans Board Act, 1926, being obtained, the Manukau County Council hereby resolves by way of special order as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund to secure the repayment of a loan or loans to be raised under the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, and amendments (if any), for providing the funds for the reconstruction of bridges on roads in the Papakura Riding of the County of Manukau under the jurisdiction of the Manukau County Council, the said Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-farthings in the pound. to be called the Papakura Riding Bridge Rate upon the capital value of all rateable property comprised within the Papakura Riding of the County of Manukau, and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan or loans, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan or loans, or until such loan or loans are fully paid off.

I, Frank M. Waters, Chairman of the Manukau County Council, hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution by way of special order duly passed at a special meeting of the council held on the 13th day of December, 1927, and confirmed at the ordinary monthly meeting of the Council held on the 24th day of January, 1928, and advertised in the Auckland Star on the 24th and 31st December, 1927, and 7th and 14th January, 1928.

THAMES HARBOUR BOARD.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926, the Thames Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Act, 1920, the Thames Harbour Act, 1922, the Thames Harbour Board Loan and Empowering Amendment Act, 1923, the Harbours Act, 1923, and the Local Legislation Act, 1927, the Thames Harbour Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £66,000, authorized to be raised by the Thames Harbour Board under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of constructing an outer harbour and the necessary works, &c., in connection therewith, the said Thames Harbour Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny and one half-penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of that part of the Thames Harbour District comprising the whole of the Borough of Thames, and that
